Maybe; or maybe having 3 pedals and only 2 feet is just too much of a conundrum to solve in relation to said burn out?

:lmao:

Ron in SoCal 02-20-2014 03:46 PM

Y'all are hilarious.

You win OBWK. When I burn up the tires I'll film a black patch. Then I'm gonna fill up your inbox :D

Also, per Jimi Day's USCA rules I'm pretty sure excuses are like tires. You aren't allowed to show up with any that are older than three years.

Boy I'll say. Not much scares me. But watching those bad ass blown boats makes me question those people's sanity.

So, I was thinking. I think I should do a 4 wheel drive burn-out on snow with my Willys and post it. :lmao:

It's running a lot better after I replaced the blown intake gasket.

'Bad Ron' as some know him by...holds the trump card though.

DP actually runs and drives.

S'alright Skip. S-O-P around here :topic: :D

Update time, sort of - I found a little time to head down to the interior shop today. Part of the delay has been sourcing obscure little interior pieces I never knew existed or even needed. Some of which is only available via OEM in a couple reseller warehouses across the country. Pieces like roof/headliner tack stips, windlace mouldings, wire loom covers, door panel metal strips...stuff like that. Tracking it down and getting it shipped took more than two weeks. Also learned that I take to mechanicals, suspension and brakes much better than this crap. I'm learning more about interior than I ever wanted to. Go figure. :/endrant:

Elegance has progressed about as far as they could go without the parts.

Thin balsa is cut out for the doors, qtrs, kicks and speaker shelf:

Headliner is mostly done:

It'll be done Tuesday. Right Mike?

Oh hell yeah! I run suede headliners in all my race cars....

LOL

I have to tell ya BR..... I'm just happy that your car is up and running BEFORE those other two guys!!

Then you can get up here on the fence with me and the couple other egg tossers (or is it grenades?) and start busting other peoples chops.

Glad to see it all coming together.

LOL

Ron,

Suede fits your car well, because apparently owning a '69 can be very comforting...perhaps after a period of great discomfort.

:tiptoe:

lol

Ron in SoCal 03-12-2014 08:14 PM

Thanks for all the laughs and compliments fellas!

The material is amazing. Looks like swede and is made of leather, but it's soft to the touch and very lightweight. I saw it on another car and decided it was a nice touch. There is bendable balsa under it and and thin layer of foam.

The rest of the car is high-end Mercedes carpet and leather to match texture of the seats. Maybe it'll get my car on TV, lol ...(JK - I could care less about that)

The next car will have aluminum and carbon fiber interior panels, no carpet :D

Phew! I'm glad I read the whole post. At first I thought you were going for the early 80's mobile home paneling look when I saw this picture and I was thinking these drapes would go well with the kicks. Maybe as a nice divider between you and your poor passenger.

Seriously though, sounds like you are getting down to brass tacks. I'm excited for my promised burnout vid. :rules:
