And of course, you're daily dose of pictures: We got the engine back from Turnkey today. The new heads should breath better and wake the LS2 up a little. Hopefully now I'm making more power than Steve loses from the crank to the wheels with that 461:lol: http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...SA/shop105.jpg Major turning point in the rebuild, the car got painted today! http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...SA/shop107.jpg http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...SA/shop108.jpg http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...SA/shop110.jpg http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...SA/shop111.jpg There is a light at the end of the tunnel for the hood too. It got primed today, and everything is looking pretty good on it. I'm guessing (and hoping) it will be ready for paint in the not too distant future. http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...SA/shop115.jpg Now we just need our wheels from Forgeline. I think Speedway is just about done with the full floater, so I need to get that as soon as possible so that we can figure out how to mount the rear brakes. I forgot to mention anything sooner, but Wilwood stepped up and cut us a killer deal on brakes. I'll post up on those as soon as I can get over to the shop. Matt |
It looks sweet Matt. Glad to see this is working out to be even better then before.

Matt - if you plan on driving up to Speedway PM me and let me know. I'll meet you there! It'll be awesome to see that floater before it goes in the car...

Doug, I'm honored you gave the gaps a passing grade. Would you sign the door jam right inside of the gap. It would mean a lot to me. I am willing to pay whatever the going rate is that Carroll Shelby charges to autograph stuff. Todd SEMA is actually in something like 17 days, so you have 17 days to get that bitchin' sounding boat anchor ready. But hey, who's counting the days. Matt |
Looks awesome Matt! I really like that hood. Can't wait to see it painted and on the car. Very nice.

Hood looks very nice.....as does the rest of the car obviously, but that's a standout feature IMO

Well, I spent way too many hours driving around southern California yesterday, but by 10:30 I was back home with a Speedway Engineering full floater. The quality and workmanship of this thing are nothing short of spectacular. Frank at Speedway is the man. In case it isn't clear in the photos, I think he has had a little practice welding. Apparently it only took him three hours to put the quadralink brackets on the axle housing.
The grand total for the floater with everything including the labor for the brackets came out to roughly $1,700. I don't think the cost is actually that much more than what my old 9" with Moser axles, etc. cost from DSE. http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...DSC_0702-1.jpg http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...DSC_0701-1.jpg http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...DSC_0708-1.jpg http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...DSC_0715-1.jpg http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...DSC_0716-1.jpg The guys have been grinding away and making progress on the car. You might notice a couple little changes going on in the engine compartment. http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...SA/shop120.jpg http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...DSC_0719-1.jpg I've also got to ask which wheels look better... http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...A/DSC_0725.jpg http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...SA/shop118.jpg Matt |
Floater looks good matt.. how are you going to mount a caliper on the ends? I don't see one welded on the tube ends..
