ooooooh humpback whales. That's awesome. Was it by chance or were you on a whale watch cruise?

I was on a private whale watch with with my wife and my dog. We were on a smaller 28' boat.
A few years ago in Argentina I got these photos.

Awesome, I was on a whale watch in Victoria Island Vancouver, watching
Orca whales, but we couldn't get close enough to get a good picture.

Few shots of some Oregon "Varmints" from my quick road trip to Coos Bay yesterday. These Elk are a common site in the meadows along Hwy 36 just east of Reedsport at beginning of the Siuslaw River Valley.

I'm no photographer but I thought maybe some of you would like to see places you might not have seen before. I know I like looking at what the world has to offer even if I'll never see it with my own eyes.

Today, I bring you a part of the Oklahoma panhandle believe it or not. Most of the panhandle is flat and, quite frankly, nothing special to look at. This is the Black Mesa Nature preserve though. I hiked to the top of Black Mesa which is OK's highest point at just under 5000 ft.

This little town in the distance is Kenton

You're looking at New mexico here

This is why it's called Black Mesa. It's covered in basalt which is volcanic rock from eons ago

You sure you weren't on HWY 38.... and passing the Elk preserve.
