I had a goal and I kinda of made it.

My goal was to being the car to our local cruise night and also get a picture in front of the Tivoli theater.

Step 1 Get Gas (( at least 5 gallons ))

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3fe7b01-me.jpg

Redo the PCV line one more time.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...6fb40e8-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...c976b0f-me.jpg

Out we go !!!

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...08dd9b7-me.jpg

I made it !!!

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...281b8aa-me.jpg

My neighbor son, who has been helping me on the car stopped by and showed my his High School art project. Which I that was awesome and this is the first time he has ever drawn anything !!!

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...77bdb45-me.jpg

and !!!

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...d318553-me.jpg

Back home safe and sound

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...436455e-me.jpg

syborg tt 09-03-2024 08:33 PM

Putting some more miles on it (( 08-31-24 ))

Needed to add more fluid so off to the Autoparts store.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...39f9d88-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...a929e4d-me.png

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...572f0cb-me.jpg

Looks like the birds got me yesterday.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...0827425-me.jpg

Look Mom there is a Mustang in the background, Mike must be here.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...73b538a-me.jpg

Mike and I took the car out and drove it around a bunch.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...6987896-me.jpg

We even stopped by the house and picked up his car just for this picture.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...83b94f2-me.jpg

Even stopped for ice-cream and a lower radiator hose leak !!

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3b2e79e-me.jpg

When we arrived back at the house we had a few issue's. When I turned the car off it continued to run. Not Good.

Then to make matters worse after we got the tuned off we had another issue. Seems the computer was unable to see
the transmission and we (Mike) had to push the car on to the lift.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...7245e58-me.jpg

and since my memory sucks we wrote down the chain of events.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...5fd11d0-me.jpg

For now the car is in the garage on the lift and I will be driving the Cayman for the next couple days.

syborg tt 09-28-2024 07:57 PM

This Wagner Motor is a leaky SOB !! (( 09-15-24 ))

Seriously I am thinking about scrapping this motor and just buying a new LS3 Connect & Cruise !!

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...82de379-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...7595ba1-me.jpg

The plan is to work on a couple things before I try to figure out what is wrong with the car and unfortunately, things didn't go as planned.

First Up, raise the rear

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...6a53124-me.jpg

I hate this Tin Man **** !!

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...582e151-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...f9646ec-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...0b9d0b3-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...1bd3d9c-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...18af9af-me.jpg

Looks a little better.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...4d1acb2-me.jpg

and then I walked into this and it quickly reminded me how much heads bleed !!!

Looks like I am going to the ER.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...1703365-me.jpg

Good news when you have a head injury they take you in right away.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3b2ed18-me.jpg

Eleven stitches, Cat Scan and a friendly Doctor visit were heading home.

Thank god I have no hair.

Kore3 Wilwood Electric Brake (( 09-28-24 ))

Still have no clue if the car will drive and honestly I am just happy I walked back out to the garage to work on the car.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...d72f1e8-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...c9ff7d2-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...b9571ac-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...fd9df66-me.jpg

Unfortunately, I won't be able to use the current bracket.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...2650959-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...53c72de-me.jpg

The current bracket only allows me to install one of the bolts.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...6aace7d-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...55fe4e1-me.jpg

Plan B. Use the brackets that Tobin sent with this kit.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...4a9d2df-me.jpg

Removing the original bracket.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...89518bf-me.jpg

Looks like I need to modify this bracket. Apparently my axle housing needs a little more space so I can install it.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...93788a4-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...d832537-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...514ef39-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...625c093-me.jpg

I will need to machine an actually spacer instead of using the washers.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...dc28c2a-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...91f11a0-me.jpg

The Electric Part.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...546f2e1-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...d2bf464-me.jpg

Kinda cute.

Yep, that is exactly how I felt the Doc said I couldn't wear a helmet so I missed five days of spectacular weather out on the bike.

ps I did get a ride in on Friday and Sunday so I am a little less cranky.

Ouch, that looks painful. Might need to wear one of your bike helmets when you work on the car...

Car looks great. Just take it out and drive it and you will feel better.

Emergency brake and the leak you can get to later.

I agree 100% However, I still need to figure out why the computer is no longer talking to the transmission.

On a side note, I did pick up a foam insert for my Headsweat Hat. Think of it as a Tap Cap or if you are bald like me it gives you the warning that you don't have when you have hair.

I want to do an electric e-brake on my 69 with the Heidts rear IRS, but they are awful proud of it. Over $1,000 from Heidts for the parts to do it. I might try to buy the calipers and make my own brackets, then all I would need is the actuator and cables.

Hey Skip

Well, I am back on it and the more I dig into the issues with the trans. The more I regret it.

So the trans is garbage and the Wagner motor is also junk. It’s leaking everywhere and the hypothesis is the a few of the rings are bad or broken.

I am going to pull the trans and give it to a different trans shop to look at it. Even though the I plan to buy a new engine and transmission.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e11c7e5f0f.jpg

If you look way back in the beginning of the build I used this set up to get the trans out.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5491f5be82.jpg

Since the trans pan is beautifully powder coated I am going to put a stamped steel pan on for removal.

2nd Chance Camaro

Marty,
I hear you on the leaking... in my shop the boys say
all my cars leak... some way more than others.. no fun
My last pantera engine we found out that Quench on the motor
too tight, pistons too loose in the bores so a lot of blow by
It basically blew out any gasket on the engine

Going to use Moroso evac system on the new build
similar to what Drag racers use with a check valve
Like using a Vac pump but no room in my Pantera engine
bay for a real Vac pump

Hopefully you get this resolved as LS engines are not suppose to leak

Bob
