Cool shoes and a spiffy interior Ron.:flashie:

Vegas69 05-08-2014 07:48 PM

I'm surprised those shoes aren't covered with booties. You know, to preserve the carpet. :poke:

And just for the record..... One must actually have posted up a video of real track time in order to have a "man card"... (well - except Todd - he had to forfeit his after he got scared and sold the car).

Just sayin' <grin>

Sonoma?? Should we order up the quarters now or just wait? LOL

Looking good Ron, I m with the other guys, need to moon walk those house slippers around Dicks shop a bit.

Workin' on it Vince!

So Elvis has an update...

The car made it over to BoS. You might've heard about the SD fire last week. I was in Florida - sweating it out - but in the end the shop and all the cars were OK! For a while there we thought it might be an evacuation situation. :getout:

The little stuff is just about done. The remaining list is so small it's ridiculous. Brakes are bedded. Motor/trans/rear is broken in, somewhat. Fluids are changed and ready to rock n roll...:D

Spolier and tow hooks are on.
http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps7b860cc9.jpg

Rollbar seatbelt mod is done and shoulder harness is installed.
http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/a...psf9d3e270.jpg

Standard PT fender braces are on.
http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps252fd967.jpg

Track ride height is set, I think. Might take another .5" or so in the rear.
http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps333d3286.jpg

Stay tuned on that.

Bad news is I'm working the balance of the week and family stuff Saturday so I'll have to wait until next week to pick it up. Also looks like I'm on the road for work most of June, so home brew break in and track testing plans are up in the air. But...I'm on it

Matt says it drives like a new car (I agree). Dick says I've got a traction problem. I can live with that...:D

GregWeld 05-20-2014 10:12 PM

It's looking really good Ron

Car looks great Ron. Even better in person!!

I was actually at BOS the day of the fire and helped push your car and a couple others in the shop. The fire was really bad. On my way out of the shop i counted at least 8 choppers dropping water.

Ron in SoCal 05-20-2014 10:20 PM

Thanks Efrain! Nice to have friends who have your back. :grouphug:

I'd really like to hear George Carlin's perception of tow hooks on a car of this caliber. :sieg:

oh Ron... the anticipation has got to be killing you. Sooooo close, yet so far. These next few days until you pick her up are going to seem like weeks. Just try not to think about it

Glad to see it all coming together. Now the fun begins.

Growing up we only had one tv and my parents would watch the British drama 'Upstairs, Downstairs' on Saturday nites...for years.

This is better.

Payton King 05-21-2014 06:02 AM

Car looks great Ron!

I may have to pay a transport company to bring it to me if I were in your situation. I am terrible at waiting.

214Chevy 05-21-2014 06:43 AM

Ron, car looks great. Stance is spot on. If I'm ever in Cali...you gotta promise me a ride.

Sieg you might be right. The dirty little truth is that the fronts may rub at that ride height.

Hey Jeff! Man it's been four years. I've trailered this car so many places it's a joke. This car will get driven home. It's about 120 miles and I'm looking forward to it. Might even take the long way home :D

Sonoma sounds awesome!

I'm thinking suspension travel. .5" up will nail the stance and increase shock travel.

Exciting times!

You guys giving Ron a hard time is making me scared to even do the bodywork and paint on my car.

It's kind of difficult when your car is riding a fine line between racecar and street/show car. The car turned out amazing Ron. Good luck with all of the final stages.

You'll be fine on track. When in doubt throttle out. :morepower
