We are all good Payton.
I've done the shock setting change. I've got lots of excuses so I'll just cut to the chase. I'm going faster this year. |

Hey, my car is freak of nature!! I've got a half a mind to put some sticky tires on it, and really see what she can do.LOL Just to rub it in.
|
Ron, the only logical explanation is that LS7 is trying to get the hell out of a mustang at the stripe.

Ron, I would like to see you 60 ft time along with 1/8 et and mph if it's handy.

Has anybody noticed how all dragstrips give you timeslips on the worst paper with the worst ink? You can barely read them when they give them to you, and a year later you need a microscope.LOL Maybe I'm just getting old.
My 60' on my best pass was 1.775, and my 1/8 was 7.166. With the cam thats in this car, its a big end car, it really doesn't start pulling til about 5200rpm. The Roadrunner in the one vid is my buddy Mike, we ran each other 10 times that day. Everytime he hung with me all the way down the track until about 3/4 from the end, he swears I hit a nos button, but its just the cam, and short intake runners, kinda sucks for Autox though. Your car power wise has a 10 sec pass in it, its all about learning how to pedal it coming out. My first pass was a 13.4 spinning through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. My suggestion to you would be, to make it to the track when the weather looks bad, and nobody shows up, and take your time to learn what the car likes coming out. Hell I've got buddies running my 130mph in the 9s I know this car could never do that, there cars are lighter, and designed to carry the front wheels for 100 feet. This is what makes this stuff so fun, learning the cars and the set ups. My project this year is to get my Mustang set up to Autox, so I'm not in the top 10 or 12, but in the top 5 or 6. Its my goal for the year, its a time consuming process, I'll let you know if I learned anything. |
I've only been down the strip 6 times. It's definitely a delicate dance. I found this 60 foot calculator. http://wallaceracing.com/calc60ft.php
Based on our 60 foot times we should be running: Your best: 1.775=12.75ET My best: 1.905=13.6ET If I can get down in your range 60 foot wise, I should be in the low 11's. It's never been my cars strong suit. I know I can nail a better launch as a driver but I have some inherit car drawbacks. I have over 600 ft lbs of torque at 3500 rpm, a 2.87 first gear, and 3.73 gear. I really could benefit from a taller first gear in every venue. Your mph is out of this world. I was looking at the drag schedule and I think I'll go back out there in April for midnight mayhem and work on my goals of making a good pass. |
Have you tried lauching the car in 2nd? If you don't have to feather the clutch excessively the taller gear might tame the torque.
|
Todd just curious - have you calculated your A/S%? Getting that dialed in for drag racing launch might help your 60'...
|
Yeah Todd, I'm running a 2.89 first gear with a 3.54 rear, I'm actually thinking of using a 3.18 rear to help in my autoxing

I briefly thought about a 2nd gear launch but I don't think it's in my best interest. :unibrow:
Anti squat is what it is, no adjustment available except pinion angle and it's dialed in for my working angles. Conditions is one of my many excuses. It was pretty hot both times I ran. |

New radiator is in, brakes are bleed, timing is set, all she needs is a bath and I'm headed for RTTC on Thursday.
I'm ready to kick some blue balz, tarnish a pretty penny, dust a wanna be mustang that's a little light in the loafers. :D And if that don't happen, I'll make a bunch of excuses, eat some tacos, and drink some beer. Either way, I win. http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/P3041210.jpg http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/P3041190.jpg |

Best statement I've read in a long time!
 |
I can see when I finally meet you guys, I will be chasing rear bumpers whether we are going straight, or we are turning, but I gotta say, who cares.
It sounds like you guys are having too much fun, and I want to come out and play... No smack talk here, I am the one who will be smacked, but again , who cares. It just sounds like too much fun...Gas, Tires, and maybe some parts, but so much fun... Mike:lateral:  |

Todd's probably going to be faster than me, and it doesn't bother me in the least, but it's not going to stop me from saying, "you know that old saying, Payback's a bitch?" Well, after this weekend, Payback's going to be my bitch! See, nothing to it Mike. You should try it sometime. It's pretty fun :unibrow: Matt |
I forgot about running over Barney this weekend. Might as well take a bite out of the cream puff while I'm at it.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...er-returns.jpg The plan is to walk by you in his fancy new racing duds just before your road course runs start. :unibrow: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...000120copy.jpg |

Well I won't be bring a slouch to the table...Don't let the pretty wheels and 28 year old paint fool you...It may kick your A $$.. Also most of it is brand new high tech goodies.... and yes, I am running the factory Old school LT-1, M-21 close ratio, and 3.73 gears. all GM beef grade A... And built to beat on... And I will trailer the S.O.B. home if I have to break it to beat you... You may get beat with an old school motor with a carb on it, by a 52 year old sickly man, who is a racing rookie...That would suck... Neutered by the Newbie... How's that ??? P.S. Doubt it will happen, but Matt, you asked me to try...How did I do ?? |

Fricken Funny Todd! Looking forward to what excuses you will be coming up with while your choking on your tacos & chasing it with a beer!
Looking forward to seeing you & Kelly! No one mentioned Dub Motorsports here. Was that out of respect or fear?
Anyone slower than I has to deal with the fact that they got beat by the following: 243 RWHP One legger Drum brakes (no knockback, so I know that at least worth a tenth) 225's on the fronts (19's--Dub) 300 treadwear Nitto 555 275's on the rears (20's--Dubolicious) 300 treadwear Nitto 555 Cracked block And the zip tied rag to the valve cover breather to contain the blow-by. Last year I placed 21st out of 48 cars on the road course with this deadly combo--LOL. This means that if you have a better equipped car, then you already stand a better than average chance of placement in upper half of the field, or better than 56%. If you don't have one as "well" equiped as mine, you have at least as much of a chance to place better than mid pack. If you've got an ego problem and a much better equiped car and you can't beat me on the road course, the no mercy rule applies. D |
