just wanted to compliment you on those welds

Whoever said that metal in the right hands can be art, I agree. I have never welded and I fully intend to take some classes and learn one day, but I do know that the work you have shown in this thread is top notch (to say the least). Keep posting pics as you progress.

Those are truly inspiring welds.....That makes me really want to step up my welding. Nice job man....

Ha Ha, wow,
Looks like they used a car battery and some coat hanger rod!!!!

I want to give kudos to the welder on this thread.....Brother, you are a true artist!

DW --

I used to weld back in high school (well, I still weld) but back in the day we 'stick welded' every thing... even when I was a freshman in HS I could weld better than the crap on my chassis.

The originator of this thread however... can weld with his eyes closed - one hand behind his back - and hanging upside down from the Empire State building I think! They are without a doubt the most beautiful little stacks I've ever seen.

I will also have to agree that the originator of this thread, Brooks is the best welder that I have ever seen. I am no stranger to welding, I learned on a little mig, have done a little tig, and now I run a LN-25 .068 wire, and have learned to stick as an H.D.R welder for heavy equiptment.
This thread is truly inspirational for the art of welding and fabrication, and I can only hope that in time, to be half as good with a tig as Brooks.

I apologize for poking fun at the welds that you found on your ride, I understand that you did not weld them.

No apologies required - If I didn't expect them (the pictures of the really, really BAD welding) to be made fun of - I would have never posted them. To the contrary - I posted them for that very reason!

Okay - so here's the "deal" --- you need to make a VIDEO of your technique and post it so the rest of us might have a chance (yeah right!) at being 1/3rd as good...

I'm serious -- I'd love to be able to observe your technique - 'cause you got it down buddy!
