Supply and demand....way to many cars available at Barrrett Jackson, not to mention all the deals on the private market. It's a tough time to sell anything.

I'm not saying all go high. |
I will agree with Mark in this respect--Nobody forces the seller to show up or the buyer to purchase!! After watching about 14 hrs of this spectacle--It still is amazing and more power to those involved(except the commercials!!!!!!):unibrow:

Well -- Trust me -- I'm HERE and have friends with approximately 60 cars running -- and they are NOT happy... Sales are "weak"... bid on many cars are tough. Some are going nicely.
Yes - you are right in that nobody forces a seller to bring a car to BJ - or any other auction... and many times in the PAST most got a nice bid on their cars... but the past is just that. It's GAMBLING to put your car in a no reserve auction... and unless you're a "somebody" you're not going to get a prime time number. If you think you are - you're very uneducated about how this all works. Frank --- The old bird in the hand... you did the right thing -- and yes - "your" car was FILTHY. There was nobody there 'pimpin' it either. You want top dollar for your cars at a venue like this - somebody has to be there BEFORE it rolls to discuss it and help the bidders be confident. Charley got good money for his cars -- because he was there "selling".... |

The atmosphere strikes me more on the "bargain hunting" and there feels like -- okay - it's BJ - but "ho hum"... maybe I'll buy something -- but not really any big deal. The weather is cold - it's too hot inside and too cold outside... but DEFINITELY more people here today than yesterday by twice! The outdoor vendors have just gotten their asses handed to them. One guy I talked to lost 20 GRAND in inventory... had virtually zero sales until today - and was really really bummed...
There are some really nice cars here this year - and that actually might be the reason that sales numbers don't seem to be outstanding... because there's a lot to choose from - if you know what I'm saying. Remember too - that it takes TWO or more bidders to run up the price - and there seems to be a real lack of multiple bidders - but the night is still young! |
