Ok.. That truck is perfect. Brycen is doing an incredible job!

I have to enter to try to win that 55.

I can see that Packard easily driving across the country, cool car.

At the speed we have been going on that truck it has been all hands on deck for a few weeks. Brycen, Henry, Chris, and David have all done a great job.

You might have your work cut out for you on winning that 55.

Going across country in the back seat would be pretty spacious for even a big guy like me.

We are replacing all the suspension with the Speedtech stuff and installing an LS3 with a 4L60 trans. It should be a nice car but really pretty basic. We have ordered all the Marquez and Ring Brothers trim parts with some Budnik wheels on this one.

Keep the Camaro as is---you just don't see them like that anymore---it reallys "stands" out/up in the crowd.

Looking forward to Pizza and the tour in about a week bro--thanks again.

I laugh everytime I think about how much work we have put into this car. I really learned with this car that not everyone loves the ordinary cars. It has a LS engine from a 2008 truck with custom front suspension with late model truck spindles for the 5x5 bolt pattern and 4 link rear suspension with Single adjustable coilover all around. The owner has never been to a carshow and has no interest in going. He has always dreamed of driving this 1946 Packard across country when he retires. How he ends up in my shop is beyond me, But It is really cool to see the excitement this guy has for his project. He has not cut one corner.

Here is where this thing started from about a year ago. We basically replaced the bottom 4" of the car. It was Rusty to say the least. But apparently these cars are pretty difficult to find and customer had sentimental attachment to this one.

Cool car. Very nice paint and body work! Kudos to the painter

Love the Packard. Be sure to post some finished pics or link us to them. Different is good.

ironworks 07-02-2010 07:29 AM

Well I thought I might post up some pics of the 48 truck we have been working on. It is just about ready to go to paint. You can see in the pics some of the body mods we have been working on.

Nothing like a blower from Magnuson to fill that empty space above the engine. We are adapting it to work with the Vintage Air Frontrunner.

A shot of the heavily modified grille, we took 1" off each side of the grille to narrow it up. You would not believe how much work that is.

A shot of the rear bumper. It is a sectioned and narrowed 67 chevy truck bumper. It looks really nice on the back. We are starting on the tailgate mods currently.

Here is a shot of the under dash AC vents we made to hang under the dash. We do plan to change the vents, to something more period correct.

I just want to thank Frank for allowing us to build a pretty crazy truck to the best of our ability. I can say there is not one thing I would change on this truck. Frank and I have had such similar taste on design you would think he wore gray Dickies everyday to work....:D

It also looks like we have a spot for SEMA, just waiting for the official word.
