I don't see a center line --- you got that bad boy squared up in there do ya??

Just checking.....

CamaroAJ 09-02-2010 08:17 PM

you mean the engine center in the frame? if thats what you mean then no. the engine sits to the pasenger side because of the steering gear. thats what roger speed tech told be that they do because of the power steering lines. it was either off set the engine of raise it really high to clear. if i remember i'll try and get a picture of that tomorrow.

haven't had time to do a whole lot to the car in the past few weeks but here is what i have.
got the driver and passenger fill template done to make things look better after cutting out the package tray.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3635409_n.jpg

got to wiring the engine in. i'm about done with that and then on to the forward chassis harness and then dash harness and then rear chassis harness.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...0_703016_n.jpg

so far this is what i have removed from the stock gm engine and forward chassis harness.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._5201510_n.jpg

98% done engine harness done. i still have a few things to finish up once i build the cold air intake and go to jegs to get some more wire loom.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7593430_n.jpg
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._5885152_n.jpg

also have the double pass radiator. it also will be set back 7" just like the engine. i'll be working on this more later once i get the bead roller for some of the tin work.

also for the first time since april the car has seen sun light. still waiting on the rear suspension so its on jack stands in the rear.
when i bought it

and now

CamaroAJ 11-14-2010 06:47 PM

not much of an update since its hard to take pictures of wiring.

got the fuse blocks mounted
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6323814_n.jpg

the lamp harness and some of the ECM wires.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3793391_n.jpg

the main harness to the firewall is done and most of the wires are to the location they need to be and just need tied up.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...5_900236_n.jpg

got the EBCM mounted and the harness lengthened
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3612804_n.jpg

so at work on friday we are throwing out all of the GM parts from when we were a Chevy dealer and i found this. its a rear HVAC module from an '03-'06 envoy extended.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7105194_n.jpg

because of the '01 dash conversion i did and the fire wall mods for the engine set back i had a TON of room. after some mock up and then putting the dash back in it fit!

Awesome dedication on this thing! Seems like a project I would try and tackle if I had the funds. One question, on the engine mount in this picture:

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._8031464_n.jpg

This could be me over engineering, but I feel like there is a need to triangulate that mount.

Tiger 11-15-2010 02:27 AM

I would triangulate that mount, maybe its as you say over engineering but better safe than sorry.

CamaroAJ 11-15-2010 08:03 AM

the engine mounts are not done yet, good eyes guys and i was thinking the same thing. i was waiting on getting my steering column mounted so i knew what kind of clearance i have just in case.

i plan on running i brace from the top of the mount forward to the frame on each side. i was concerned about the engine moving forward and back under hard braking and accell.

black2002ls 11-15-2010 10:19 AM

If I were building those mounts. I would triangulate directly back to the frame, joining your upright with the sub frame. This will add some strength to that joint, and should keep the motor mount from moving. Or, if you are worried about movement front to back, bring the mount front and back, essentially creating a pyramid.

waynieZ 11-15-2010 10:38 AM

It looks good. Thats a lot of wire!

CamaroAJ 11-29-2010 05:47 PM

i decided to make my own LED tail lamps because i don't care for any of the aftermarket ones that are out. its also cheeper that the awesome billet one. its not done because i ran out of LED's but two thirds of its done. then i get to start on the passenger side and even more LED's. at least i'll be seen when i stop.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._2144512_n.jpg
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7252797_n.jpg

doesn't look pretty but its a pain to wire that many LED's and not short them together.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1638116_n.jpg

i seem to have a problem getting a picture of LED's turned on. this is 2 of the 3 park lamps on. it is the perimeter of each lens for park lamps and the center of the outside lenses are brake lamps.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._5893840_n.jpg

i took an angled shot to get a picture. when i take a straight on shot its too bright and blurry. brake light on.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4214535_n.jpg

i also have back up lamps
