I retract almost all of the bad things I said about GM. I really, really, like that car!
Too many good things to say. Bad thing, though- It still may be a little late if we have to wait until 2009 to drive one. But, if Mopar makes the Challenger, and they make that Camaro, I can see an exciting battle coming! It really would be the return of the Musclecar, even in spirit on the street. |
Something I posted on another Camaro board:
I definitely dig the Camaro concept a lot and am glad to see GM back in the game. It's a great day indeed. There are things I'd change about it, as with any car, but overall, it's a sinister car with a lot of promise. Kudos to the GM designers that worked on it and to the people responsible for making the concept a reality. Here's a chop of what I think would look pretty sweet for an RS/SS option. The hideaway headlight option is becoming so insanely popular on 69 Camaros that even the standard front end guys are going out and swapping their setups for the RS look. I think GM could pull off this look pretty easily given headlight technology and not have to worry about functioning headlight doors. Anyway, I'm sure all this stuff's been said so I'll shut up and post my quick little photochop that I did during lunch today. http://www.lifeinwidescreen.com/siihp/gen5chop16gn.jpeg |
Kris, that is awesome!! :hail: Nice work!

Wondering what it might look like with some realistic wheel sizes. |
Nice concept. I'll wait to see one in the flesh before passing final judgment. As shocking as it sounds I think I like the Camaro better than the challanger!:wow: :willy:

I just cant believe all the positive feed back on this!!!!!!!! As part of the CZ6 camaro design team, THANK YOU ALL!!!!
There is quite the story that goes with this car design.Let me just say in short that we were asked to do the impposible in a short time frame and we pulled it off.Glad to see the positive comments about GM also. THANKS AGAIN Chris |
I really like the car, it has potential to be real cool. Just a tweak here or there and wala.
Kris, push the center section of the nose back so its more boxed and straighter across, see what that looks like. |
Kris...that's killer!
I'd be interested to see your take on the landing area of the belt line at the A-pillar. Specifically the rear view mirror. It's a tight squeeze in there. I wanna see what a more "production type" rear view mirror would look like in that area. It's possible that you might have to eat up part the corner of the side glass to mount one. |
If that "landing area" were more angled downward you'd have more surface area right? Perhaps enough for a mirror stalk the size of the one on the Vette or Solstice? Of course a mirror as round as those wouldn't fit with the rest of the car, but if you gave a little F-117 treatment to the outer shell of the mirror you might be able to come up with something that blended in a little better w/o looking like a gizmo from a James Bond car.
