but I've never sunk up to my ass in mud...just means your tires weren't big enough.... and I even did a fireworks show down here once.... I bet your fireworks were bigger though. :wow: Oh.. and I live about 1/4 mile from where they hold the REAL boat show. :unibrow: |
Dude -- I love my fireworks! These are only 8" mortars... babies compared to the 10's and 12 inch guns we use in NYC.
http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...tchanddrop.jpg A typical barge for NYC Macy's show is 4500 shells... in 2000 (the millennium) we had 13 barges! That was a big ass show! http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...romBigBlue.jpg |
Hey cool!!! You weren't outed Greg. I kinda suspected you were the type to help a guy in need.
Cause really, whats the point in having tools that can make tools unless you have a purpose for them. Your own car(s) prolly only need so much. Really cool to find a person that could benny from the knowledge and a sweet shop. Specially when it counts and you are stranded. There are some car groups that have a registry of folks in the group that a guy thats traveling and gets into mechanical trouble can contact. Its a nice idea. Kinda iffy if you dont know the person. But the one group I associate with is a small group. I dont even mind opening up my garage or house to them. Its like if you are taking a trip and get some mechanical failure there is a person to call that knows the car and is willing to help out. Much better than getting towed into the local gas station. I will make myself available to any of the guys in the group and we can fix just about anything, minus breaking down a tire off the rim. But I have a truck that can cart the tire and wheel to the local tire shop for that. I like the idea of having contacts all around the country. Even if it means just a place to be able to swap out an alternator VS doing it in the parking lot of the auto parts store. There is alot of comfort knowing you have some buds around the states that will help as much as they can. Even if it is only a place to park the car for a night so they can work on it in the morning. And there is always a spare guest room available here for some much needed sleep (after we (or I) toss some suds and laugh about the break down). Morning will come and time to dive into the fix. And Im all about fixing. Kinda refreshing to see the idea isnt lost. JR |
