Stripped and epoxy sealed. Originally a vinyl top car we found the typical rust from the window channel location...typical. Car was media blasted and body filler was used. It was holding fine but we will cut this area out and replace to save the OE quarters.

Ben did a great job in capturing my vision and plans. Really motivated to keep pushing to the finish line.

Awesome rendering!

Love it and I typically don't like red. Maybe I'm coming around to the color with all these good looking cars being painted red. Hmmmm. Regardless, good luck with the build

Thanks for all the comments!!! Very much respect the opinions around here so it means a lot. My first red car ever and I certainly had the chance to change the color but something about Guards Red with the black hockey stripe just grabbed me and won't let go! |
I changed my project name....sounds much better and certainly appropriate IMHO. Never really like "Flux"..."Twice Baked" seems more fitting since this is the second major rebuild of this car in 7 years.
Moderators...can you change the name of the thread as well?? Hopefully that is allowed. Thanks in advance. Some updates: Change of plans.....New AMD quarters, outer wheels wells and door shells. Overall was very clean considering the born with quarters were still on the car but ultimately needed replaced to match the caliber of the build. Besides I just could not stand not getting to the inner quarter and taking care of the unknown (ie. rust). Pretty close to having all the sheet metal fitted with proper 3/16" gaps. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...ps1781feb7.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...psa3c41e31.jpg |
Meanwhile doing some tinkering with the subframe...Willwood 6P brakes, bump steer tie rod ends, etc.
