I just started the interior panels, but as soon as I have them filled and painted I'll post more pics. I used 2 inch metal strips, screwed together with sheet metal screws to fit them in the car. After I had them fitting the way I wanted, I formed some 18 gauge sheetmetal from 3 different pieces to get the shape and then welded them together. I used some 1/8" rivets to join the metal to the plastic. I can't really say how this is going to turn out, but looks promising so far. Once I have them filled, I'm going to retexure them with Sem texturing paint, then I'll paint them with the interior black paint. I have a feeling these interior panels are not that easy to paint too. I'm trying some adhesion promoter between all my coats of filler and paint. If they end up cracking, chipping I'll just get them upholstered. |
Thanks. That clears it up some. I

Since you are in Burnaby, you could try Fiber-tek, or industrial Plastics. They might have some ideas on what type of products you could use. I think a lot of it depends on the plastics
If you wanted to do the work, they have the products there to be able to make a mould of your panel then recast it in fiber glass |
Couple updates!

Took a chance and installed my own headliner, it actually turned out near perfect. Few YouTube videos later and it was in!
Also finished one of my rear seat interior panels. I have some serious hours in these. Lol They turned out fairly nice, pretty hard to tell they’ve been stretched. |
Details on the inner panel procedure you used to get that finish? That looks amazing.
Thanks, jim |
