Great job Jody!! The workmanship on everything looks impeccable. This is one of the nicest builds I've seen in a long time. It's clear that many hours and planning and engineering went into this.

they're not as bad as they look, and a lot easier than my Lightning was!!!!!! Added the drivers fender, Ron Davis custom radiator (they matched the mounts Mark had built for my original radiator), and the intercooler. I painted the intercooler the same dark gray as the engine compartment as it really shows through the front grille. I know some think that's a no-no, but should be fine for this car.

hey Phil, nice to hear from you. I've moved on to diesels, have a new Duramax crew cab 4X4, running mid 12's at the moment...... :unibrow: No race for your truck though! ;)

XcYZ 04-18-2008 10:03 AM

The painted intercooler looks killer.

Garage Dog 65 04-18-2008 10:19 AM

Beautiful work Jody ! Great colors with a ton of high tech and a splash of carbon accent - georgous. Can't imagine how tired you must be right now especially after all the sanding and buffing - so take care of yourself. We're all living the build right along side you (except for that walking around exhausted part) - THANKS for sharing and looking forward to S and D days !!!

Hey Jody car looks fantastic! Your attention to detail simply amazes me. I have to agree I like the look of the paint matched intercooler. Looking forward to seeing it completed!!

Man that thing is looking nice. Awesome job.

chicane 04-18-2008 07:58 PM

...Straight up out of the PIMP manual. Yet even... redefined.

Wow Jody. Mali2ude is really coming together nicely. Your imagination and execution are an exemplary statement in badassness.

I even did a suprise drop in on him today to make sure he was really working on it. Called him on the phone while I was parked outside his shop. He told me to hang on while he went outside to see who was out there honking their horn.

thanks Jim. It's a nice car, but nowhere near SMOTY level, not even close. But it'll be a pretty trick street car I think, and a blast to drive.

thanks Steve, and everyone else for the nice comments. Neatly detailed and organized doesn't really cost anything but time, so this is something everyone can do to their car. I will say, as the turbo plumbing and the rest of the front end stuff gets added, it's becoming harder and harder to keep it organized and un-cluttered. I'm running out of room.............. :willy:

We can always hardline it? Black ends and s.s. tube you can't beat the look. B.T.W. your build is very impressive and great color combos to give it that touch of elagance and class at the same time. Pure attitude!!!

You severly underesitmate your skill and how dang nice this car is shaping up to be. But, I know how humble a dude you are and it does not surprise me. It will seriously get Mag coverage.

zbugger 04-19-2008 02:53 PM

Great to see the progress on the car Jody. Just don't let jackass get you all riled up. You may have to have a back road shootout of your own on Power Tour with him, and he wouldn't like losing the best looking award let alone the cool car and fast car award either. Then again, he's usually just making up for something anyway, isn't he? Hmm.... I should stop. I gotta start collecting pictures of my own progress on my own car to get my own thread going.

you know who jackass is, right? Charley and I are great friends, so it's all good.

I do know who I would want backing me up though.............. thanks for the nice words.

Jody

camcojb 04-20-2008 12:15 AM

well, both front fenders are on, and wired the front clip. Only thing left to wire is the a/c switch, horns, and front park/turn signals. Need more progress before these can be done. I converted to HID's since I had a kit in the shop and the car came with H4 halogen drop-out bulbs.

http://www.camcojb.com/temp/malitude 485.jpg

The plumbing is progressing; water and oil to turbo lines are done as well as all vacuum/wastegate plumbing. Things are starting to get crowded.

Gonna be interesting to see how your solution for the turbo -> intercooler -> intake plumbing going to look. It looks tight, but I guess you have a plan.

Who makes that intake manifold?

Jody -

What amazes me most about your car is how you have taken 10lbs of "stuff", put it in a 5 lb bag and still make it look incredibly clean. I am sure looking up from down below is a maze, but from top down, you have pulled off a miracle.

You are going to have to publish your own 3 Volume Service Manual for that thing!!
