Rich,
THe camaro is really coming along. Will there be gauges in the cowl area? Also, is the pro-charger bracket finalized? If so, can we get a picture? Keep the pictures coming.

You have got to be frickin' kidding me!

That is the coolest idea and what imagination.

That shop never ceases to amaze me. You have to be pumped!

wiedemab 12-09-2008 11:42 AM

That is sweet!

Flash68 12-09-2008 11:55 AM

ironworks 12-09-2008 12:15 PM

Thanks guys, We have a few more tricks up our sleeves for the dash and this car. We should be getting the Autometer gauges and be able to do somethings to really set her off. I think we are going call twist machine and get some of their bezel rings and then anodize them a cool color when we get to final assembly. Thanks again guys, Henry has done an amazing job on the work on the dash and cowl.

The Procharger Bracket is not done, my Solidworks designer has been swaped and traveling here and there. Someday he might get his crap togther to finish that along with the 10,000 other Project i have going on for him.

More to come.

We're saving that for a 55 we are doing in the spring....Can't use all my secrets on one car.

Chip Foose he's not... But you get the idea.

A little taller.

Thinks that everything should start with a tubing bender.

Favorite program on his computer is SolidWorks

Thinks a fast car is mid 7's, with doors.

Everyone has 42,000 book marked internet pages, don't they?

Will answer your email at 11:30pm from his laptop or phone it he's driving.

It's only steel, we can bend, shape, weld, cut, any thing that you can't imagine. The stuff that you can imagine, we can do this week.

'Bolt on' comes with a grinder and a welder, right.

Like Chip Foose
the devil is in the details
Wants to think outside the box, but there is no box, so everything is outside 'the box'.

Now back to Camaro Works, or Nova Works, or more commonly called Works with Steel.

Sweet look on the cowl, similar to what rad rod troy did with the nova cowl

I agree, and especially the way it will flow into the interior panel

Vegas69 12-10-2008 08:53 PM

I like the cowl look from the cockpit but this is a great idea. That is the perfect place for some gauges.

98ssnova 12-10-2008 09:12 PM

I think the cowl looks great my question is which way will the hood open. Very forward thinking thought even Troy has done it. You guys are raising the bar.

:D

rich-allen 12-11-2008 06:30 AM

I'm sure the hood will open normally. That's one of the first things they would have tested.

The bezels from twist machine will be anodized in a dark green military hard coating. The military coating will be an emphasis on the interior incorporated into the stitching.
I'm getting ready to find an interior specialist, maybe Tracy is willing to look at the project?

Rich

Tracy would be a good choice, he just did the Trans am and it turned out wicked!! but you will have to have a local guy do some of the other stuff carpet and head liner.

Tracy is a carpet muncher from way back! No need to go anywhere else he can do just about everything...

Just to clear things up the hood only needs to open if the engine is not working. I think Rich only cares if the drivers door opens.

The hood does clear, but it does need some new hinges. HINT HINT.

I'm hoping to come home tomorrow and hopefully Henry finished the dash while I went to PRI in Orlando.

I guess I have it bad I'm on a Hotel computer in Brimingham AL, reading Lat-g. Oh and PRI make SEMA seem like the Auto accessories isle at Pep Boys in case your interested.

Rodger

Mick Mc 12-13-2008 11:55 PM

Thanks for the invite to PRI.

I ordered a set of hinges from Ring Brothers, so you can have one less thing to do.

I looked at Autometers website, you were right.

ironworks 12-15-2008 05:45 PM

So do you want small II's or large One's? I have the request in for one's currently.

Interesting cowl mod, does this cause you any dramas with the front windscreen?

ironworks 12-15-2008 10:40 PM

Nope no issues. We will post some completed pics here soon. We are fine tuning the fit up right now.
