I would purchase a seat that you fit in.

Thanks |
The bar that goes across the front of the windshield isn't straight across between the A pillar bars. It is curved to match the contour of the roof line. Subtle, but top notch work.

Looking good. Looking forward to drive it....I'll take the CORSA seat. :D

Tyler,
Any new pics to share? |
Rodger teased me with 3 pictures today. Progress will come faster in the next month but we've been debating over the widebody for a while now. Do we add very obvious flares? Do we widen the car? I spoke to John McBride about this and he sketched out some ideas; I had a hard time picking any of them and ultimately picked none of them. While the flares in my head would be as amazing as the ones on the Porsche GT3R Hybrid (Google image THAT car.) when seen on paper it just didn't make me fall in love.
Starting sketch (based off my old black 68 Camaro) with factory track width: http://i53.tinypic.com/f1i1ht.jpg Flare concept number one: http://i54.tinypic.com/dg2n9i.jpg Flare concept 2 and 2A: http://i53.tinypic.com/27y8zuu.jpg So we decided after all the back and forth, all the idea and reference material we are just going to wide body the car vs flare the wheel wells. Rodger had the boys get out the sander and cut off wheel. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010018.jpg Then they cut out the 'eyebrow' and placed it where it needs to be to clear the meats. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010026.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010027.jpg A few more cuts and then lots of patching, metal working, and grinding and we will be able to set it down on all 4 wheels for the first time in 10 years. I need to get my Sparco seats and Woodward column so that we can position me in the car and then the last of the floor/firewall can be built. I hope to have it a roller by spring. Tyler |
ABOUT TIME:_paranoid
Looking good! |
The First flare concept (the blue one) looks really kool! I think you should go with that one. It works well with the front end and rockers. Would be my choice.......
Great Project and glad to see it moving again..... |
Yea.....I'd the one with the shading looks the best. The red X's look a bit generic though....
|
^^^^^^^ what he said....
It'll only add another 6 or 7 months and 10K.... at this point... big whoop. :D Blue is a hair color.... but the blue in the rendering would be bad azz... subtle like a velvet hammer. |
Tyler what about Cris's (GONZO) wide body set up? Would that work?

I'm with them ^^^ the blue shaded version is awesome. It makes the front fascia deal work, because the whole thing looks like a badass race car - like it should be dicing it up with C6Rs, BMWs, Porsches, and Ferraris in the American LeMans Series - only cleaned up a bit for the street.

More updates. Remember- I did not choose any of the renderings to base the wide body off of. Ultimately I didn't fall in love with any of them, so we are doing a combo of a stretch with a flare. Think of a combo of the way the SCAR camaro was done with a bit of the Gulf Camaro.
Here is the car getting mocked up with flares only; we will be cutting the fenders and quarters much more to reduce the flare size and make it have more of a 'designed' look vs 1971 flares. NOTE: These are Photobucket hosted, so if you see a red X the site is blocked or we exceeded bandwidth (not likely.) Front fender flare mock up http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010001.jpg Head on view http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010002.jpg Side view http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010004.jpg Worms eye view http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010005.jpg Front 3/4 view http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010015.jpg Rear 3/4 view http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...r2010018-1.jpg Tyler |
Rodger should hire someone that designs fender flares for a living to come up with some ideas.
Just kidding those look good. |
Those look good.... thats how i would have done it!!
|
I know how hard it must be deciding to take away from the original body lines because I am pondering the same thing myself.
You guy's made a good choice and I know that thing will look pretty racey when it is done. |
Read further and answered My own question......thank You for the Note Tyler.
So aparently Photobucket is now blocked through My work server for pornographic reasons.......... |
Tyler, its lookin pretty good I think it will look awesome with the combination of a wide body and small flare. I am sure your gettin a little excited to see much forward progress.

If THAT rolled up next to me on the street - or track for that matter - I'd poo myself!
Holly crap! :hail: :hail: |

Tyler, boy how far along your car has come. I still remember the LT1 & original T56 swap back from CamaroZ28.com that helped inspre my build.
Looks killer buddy, keep it going. I want to see this car finished in my lifetime  |
I didn't want to take Tyler's thread on a tangent with the Dyno West Camaro... just wanted to say they both look similar and fantastic.
Moving on! |
I like the flare's Tyler.
|
Last shot for the paper flares. I was surprised to see how nice the fenders and rear quarters actually were after stripping them down to bare metal. They are so nice I think we should destroy them.
Here it is with the old carbon fiber side skirts with the side exit exhaust port. The new frame will not allow the side exit so I will re-make the side rocker trim to flow better with the new flares and front air dam. Poor shop kid had to lay under that jig and hold them up for this shot. http://i51.tinypic.com/fuxrpf.jpg Tyler |
Lookin good Tyler! That screams DRIVE ME!
|
Man, that is very aggressive looking.

i am thinking neither of those tires are 200tw....................:_paranoid

Don't get too close to Rodger, he will cut you up.
So he started the fender cuts to reduce the flare bubble size and make it appear more subtle. He stripped the fender and rear 1/4 down to bare metal and sliced it at the 9, 12, and 3 O'clock positions to pull the body line outward. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010007.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010008.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010006.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010010.jpg Still working on the front, but same idea; just checking at full lock/compression- http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...r2010003-1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...r2010004-1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...r2010005-1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2010009.jpg Have a good weekend!
