Project Big Steam
I have come up with a name for my new project - "Big Steam"
This is the dyno curve off my new engine- http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...low65/dyno.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...5/DSC_2987.jpg A LS9 based engine with the following changes 7.0 L instead of 6.2 L 3 to 1 pulley ratio LS7 Throttle body Revised cam Revised blower inlet Should run good. Stielow |
Wow Mark, just exactly how are you going to refrain from melting the tires off with that much power? :hail: :hail:
|
That's all you got?:unibrow:
|
Mark ---
That's a WOW..... Nice TQ numbers! Terrible name... hope you're just kidding. |
I just looked at that graph again. Over 600ft lbs at 2500??? Thats crazy!!

Paint update
Should get the car back from paint next week. It is all painted and Paul and Joe are doing the final assembly and rub oub out.

It idles at 650 rpm like a stocker. Ultimate sleeper. All stock blower and intercooler bricks. GM stuff is the best but I'm tainted. :_paranoid Stielow |

So far, the understatement of the year! Mark, Super nice guy with amazing talent... ...again. |
So the dyno pull was done with Stock headers? Omg
800 ft/pds of Torque at 3800 or so :wow: |

Maybe you could call it -- LIPSTICK |
mark what color white did you paint your camaro. lol:cheers:

It amazes me the power and reliability these factory GM peices provide. I'm in the middle of assembling an LS7 for my Mustang, some of the parts in that engine are so far beyond anything the aftermarket had just a few years ago. Love the build Mark. Ron

I can't wait to get it done and to the track. I don't think I can make Road America but I should be at Putnum Park. Stielow |
I have to ask, GM didn't think that block was sufficient for the LS9, why do you?

Blower lid
Working on a custom blower cover.
I want to remove the "LS9" on the cover and replace it with "7.0 L". Still want to make it look OE Here is a CAD screen shot http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...S9SCCOVER2.jpg Stielow |
Nice cover
|
i used a wood router and machined the "GTO" raised letters off of my engine covers. I sanded it and painted them and they look good as new. Just move quickly or it bakes the plastic

Performance
Cant wait to see you drive this around the track...
Ty for updating Mark and the 7.0L Supercharged is as cool as it gets |

I want to make big power for a hot rod. I'm in uncharted waters for a road race engine. If I can keep it cooled it will work. Jackass had no issues with cooling so I'm following that combo and added about 30% more cooling capacity. To quote Bob Lutz "Often wrong but seldom in doubt" Time will tell - See you at the track :lateral: Stielow |
That just insane numbers. What other things are going in car?

Stielow |
Mark are they 1,7/8" dia headers? and if so why rather than the 2 inch?
|
Borla Mufflers
Same muffler you put on Jackass? What makes them so quiet? They obviously perform well...
|
That makes perfect sense. With that much power, the sleeves can't be wondering around to much. We've all been pushing GM engineering beyond their recommended limits since day one. This is no different. I'm just wondering if a parachute may be needed.

This is a SICK build for sure. Those dyno numbers are insane! :hail:
Thanks very much for t he updates  |
WOW!!! Very nice. That will be a beast for sure. Should pull for sure with that torque power and the RPM range it is in.
Car will be killer overall. |

I blame Jody
Paul / Joe the car looks great
Looking forward to Saturday....looking forward to Saturday to get my car back. I got my fitting back from anodizing---- Jody gave me a ton crap about my red - blue fittings so I stripped the colors and re-anodized black http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...5/DSC_3069.jpg |
Looks like the real fun begins this weekend!

Great numbers Mark and the car is looking great. The re-anodized fittings are a great idea.
Is the LS9 blower available stand alone in lieu of the whole crate engine or is this something you acquired through your GM resources. Is there any difference on the LS9 access. drive from the stock LS7. I see some slight modification on the bottom end, but maybe its only due to the sub frame. Dave |
