Engine bay of my 72 Camaro. I didn't do all the work so I am not taking credit for it.

Just tying up the last bit of wiring on my FAST XFI 440. Supercharger will be later on.

I posted a mid way pic of this one wayyyy.. back and never got around to posting the finished pic so here it is...

1967 Shelby GT 500 E Super Snake. One of 32 completed as a Licensed Shelby Continuation Vehicle and one of 3 we have redone with this upgrade package. 482ci Aluminum FE, Vortech V7, intercooled with FAST XFI. Put down just under 800/800 at the wheels on a conservative street tune on pump gas. The owner has had it back for a year now and drives it every time the weather permits.

Congrats on an awsome number and I'm sure it runs like mad. Most of the cars I do aren't in the hands of people that understand the maintenance that goes along with building and tuning a car on the edge. They are street driven so I'd rather setup a more conservative combo that lives easy and is more enjoyable to drive on the street but still has more than enough power to make you think twice about how hard you are going to mash that pedal. This car idles at 850-950 with or without the A/C on and drives like a regular car when you aren't in the boost. Owner actually joked about how happy he is with the fuel mileage when he is just cruising on the higway... miles per gallon instead of gallons per mile! Not everyone wants to drive a racecar on the street. I would rather have a smaller peak number and larger driving enjoyment.

He did say 800 at the rear wheels. Isn't that more like 950-1000 flywheel hp with 60ci less than you?

No stand alone harness avail so not a easy task for all the electronics that have to work.

No have not started one. Was not sure if it was welcome here or not.

I guess I could start one to see how it goes . . .

I just started the project a week ago. Its been one roller coaster ride already.

The electronics in these vehicles are pretty complex. I should say attempted project.. .

John510 04-10-2012 11:20 PM

Is it ok if I don't have my front end attached yet?

Iamtheonlyreal1 01-29-2013 08:42 AM

This is my Project Volvo X a 1967 Volvo 122 Amazon, with a 540 Horse LS6. I still have to just a bit of finish up on the front of the intake piece, but this gives an idea of the setup.. The LS6 V8 conversion is about 30 pounds lighter in the front than the OEM 4cyl car, and the total vehicle weight will be less than 2700 pounds fully accessorized and loaded.
