Last update for now was from today! Felt like Christmas day!
:ups:
Hard to believe it all fits in this small box. Weighed under 30lb!

Seems well packaged!

Turbos look NICE! They're SMALL but I guess the cars I've been around are either big singles or HUGE power cars...These are baby turbos!

That thing looks super cool,
Do they use special type welding rod on items that get anodized ?
Thinking anodizing my set up as well it's just too much bling.,

will69camaro 03-20-2014 06:36 PM

To be honest I'm no expert in that field. I know Autorad doesn't do anodizing anymore. I'll have it done locally.

waynieZ 03-20-2014 09:21 PM

That is one sweet set up !! Its going to be awesome.

GAP Industries 03-21-2014 05:13 AM

Can't wait to see it all come together

tones2SS 03-21-2014 05:49 PM

Nice updates!
Keep us posted on your build. That is going to be beastly. :confused18:

tmadden 03-21-2014 09:12 PM

Dang so. You are all in and I'm happy for you.

will69camaro 03-30-2014 07:50 PM

Car is on the lift, rearend pulled back out of it for underside painting/coating. Hoping to get that done this week and get the rear pulled apart to replace the gears (4.10s to be replaced with 3.50s).

Get that all done and spec the rear wheels.

Excited to get this going and make some progress. I'll get pictures up soon!

will69camaro 04-02-2014 08:59 AM

Well according to GAP my radiator/intercooler setup shipped so looking forward to receiving that in the near future (was scheduled for 4/21 so little ahead).

Went to GAP the past few days to work on the car a bit and get the bottom finished up. We pulled the rearend out and set it aside so we had good access to the bottom of the car.

I went to prepping any areas showing surface rust and knocking down any high points in the patch panels that had been done. All looking good now!

We went from this:

Back down on the ground on the roller wheels, waiting to test fit some nice wheels. May order wheels at the end of this week/beginning of next.

 Little by little, it's moving in the right direction. It's looking really good.
What did you guys shoot the bottom with?

will69camaro 04-02-2014 01:00 PM

Just spray in bed liner. Was going to use Lizard Skin but wanted something more durable and black (without painting it after application). I'll be putting in dynamat so thermal/noise insulation will be taken care of.

When are you planning to stop by? Maybe we can hook up. I typically get off from work around 2:30 pm.

Depending on Tim's availability, I may try to be there around 4:30 today.

I'm there most Fridays now. Not sure if I'm going to make this Friday as I have plans to go to Texas Invitational in Dallas.

will69camaro 04-07-2014 07:35 AM

Planning to use the Holley Dominator ECU.

tones2SS 04-07-2014 05:53 PM

Looking good Will.
Nice to work so close to the shop, to just stop by every once in a while and see things in person.

will69camaro 04-07-2014 06:31 PM

Tim can attest, i'm there all the time. I'm determined to spin some wrenches on this thing. GAP is letting me do so, so I've found a perfect partner for this project.

We got some parts on order today (big parts) and measured for the rear wheels for the tire I want to run. I'm excited!

Test fitting the 345/35/18 MT DR.

Looks like 18x12 w/ 6.25" BS is the ticket.

  • AutoRad core support shipped out today so expecting that Thursday
  • Fuel pumps are in (2x CTS-V pumps)
  • Vaporworx controller is in
  • Clutch will be in Wednesday (Spec ST twin disc)
  • RSG Tranzilla Magnum 6spd should be shipping this week
  • Engine being balanced at Texas Speed this week and assembled
  • Just ordered Mast Black Label LS3 heads

William

will69camaro 05-01-2014 07:16 PM

Got a big shipment of parts in today!
http://i.imgur.com/OjolykY.jpg

Several boxes there. I didn't get pictures of some of the stuff but that's a full set of March Pullies, ATI Super Damper, waterpump, alternator, a/c, etc. The other boxes are the Autorad setup!

Autorad setup:

This is just a mock up as all this will be coated black. Not shown are the closeout panels, etc.

My Mast Black Label heads were supposed to show up but they got delayed a day. They'll arrive tomorrow. Clutch will be picked up with the heads tomorrow. Already picked up the ID1300 injectors!

That AutoRad setup is rad! OK, horrible joke, but it is still a work of art!

Thanks and I agree. Hard to bring myself to paint it, but it will look out of place otherwise.

Maybe when this car is finished, Kalis and I can go hurt some feelings at shift sector event in old cars :)

I do not live far from auto rad and he said it will not cool as well painted. But yet there are tons out there painted. Any truth to this?

Are you warmer with a jacket on? Not to be sarcastic (well just a little), but I blew a high compression MC motor after I powdercoated the barrels. Heat dissipation is best done with bare metal.

will69camaro 05-02-2014 10:15 PM

Slowly being convinced to leave it bare. Gonna test fit it and see how I feel about it. Pics to be posted of course.

will69camaro 05-03-2014 01:28 PM

More parts showed up Friday. Still no Clutch, motor, trans or gas tank, but every little thing is another step closer!

Mast Black Label 256cc LS3 heads. They had these to me in 2 days! Fitted with solid stainless valves and .700lift beehive springs. 69cc combustion chambers. Should give me around 9.75:1 compression on the 427 :)
