I know what color! Lol sorry guys..
Soon...my friends soon...

We are cutting in parts this week and prepping the car to be painted here in the next week or so.

Mark will be by the shop this week to check the color in person.
Then maybe he'll let the cat out off the bag!

I would love that. I'm strongly contemplating light blue metallic on my C10, with matte grey wheels and brushed lips.

 on the wiring - Attention to detail I like it.

Again ... that doesn't look like a 67 dash panel to me, did you swap out a 69?

Gonna be a great car :hail: :hail: :hail: who cares what color it is - leave it in sealer gray!

On a couple of occasions when I forgot to flip the switch, temps would climb into the high 200s by 10 minutes into a track session, and shifting would start to get sticky.

In "normal" driving, temps never exceed low 200s without the cooler on.

Thanx for the reply. One last question, if you don't mind. What size lines did you run to the cooler and back? I was concerned that such a heavy fluid might need more than -6AN lines...

Paul VanNus hammer out the louvers on the Carbon Fiber hood.

Looking forward to seeing it in color. What color was that again?

Picture that color but different and you will be close.

I stopped by the shop today to give Paul a hand with his Nova and there may have been a door or two with paint that I didn't see:_paranoid . This car is going to be killer and seeing it without paint or interior really gives me some ideas for my next project.

Mark, why do the front down bars land on the subframe so close to the firewall? Was this due to packaging? Just curious since they are generally further towards the front of the subframe on most builds. I love the detachable union you used, it looks very strong and nicely executed.

I'm going to guess it saves a little weight, makes overall packaging a little easier, and I think it would actually be a little safer because it would allow the subframe in front of the down bars to collapse in a collision and absorb energy that would otherwise be transmitted to the car's occupants.

Thanks for asking but not yet. We are getting close. We have had a few other projects that have sat idled for awhile we needed to make progress on too. But we did make good progress this week on getting car prepped for paint.I should have shell all final blocked today and need to do another block on hood. It's looking great. I'm excited to see paint on it too. We're getting there. Stay tuned. Joe.

bulldog19 07-29-2012 09:22 AM

Sales@Dutchboys 08-01-2012 08:11 PM

Steve, We have a few different blacks that we use on projects around the shop. On the last two projects for Mark we played around with the Standox Rally Black. And bumped up the gloss a little bit. Not the cheapest paint. But looks awesome and is very durable. Let me know if you need anymore info on the paint and ill set you up!

PS..The car is going to be painted this week!!:woot:

Rick D 08-01-2012 08:16 PM

Not to speak for Paul but it is either rally black or black base with Matt clear?? Rally black is a Matt finish single stage paint, most of the top paint company's have some kind of rally black. But I'm sure Paul will chime in at some point!

By the guy the car is looking great keep up the great work and all that comes with doing it the right way

^^^^^well Paul beat me to it!!

Paul Im having a terrible time with getting my underhood stuff painted with a decent product that wont break the bank! I used eastwoods extreme chassis black on my undercarraige and it came out blotchy!! as in dry spots and smooth spots:mad: Need something I can spray from my gun in my garage. Thanks for the info! Great work as usual and btw I missed u at Colombus good guys this year:thumbsup:
