Wow. Beautiful.

What are the tanks behind the radiator? Overflow, oil?

Where do you get a harness done like that?

Actually I do. I was going to hand deliver them this summer with a seat for a 57 Chevy.

We did that in house to the harness. One tank is for the super charger and the other is for the wiper squirters for now. But could be additional for the super charger if needed. Doubt we will need that much reservoir. But the 2 tanks balance the look.

Thanks

Is the exhaust going to be coated or stay raw? I kind of like it the way it is right now. Looking great guys!

syborg tt 04-01-2013 09:51 AM

Car looks very nice.

This picture give's me an idea for my next project. The Tank mounted above the heater core box would look cool if it was somehow partially tucked into it.

Ok, a couple of questions... What made you go with the heater box and not a flat firewall? What wiper motor system is that?

Other than that, i'm just still in amazement. I love it when I get my notification that there is a post in this thread.

By the way I do like the Tilton reservoir. I figured it would get painted.:popcorn2:

As always, Roger, you do an awesome job.

Since the car has a 15 year old paint job and the vinyl roof. We saw no reason to flatten the firewall anymore then we did. We planned to run the bulkhead for the AC and heater through it for space and figured it would be less work to just powder coat the bolt on part, then weld, body work & paint whatever we could have done. The wiper motor is from newport engineering. We modified the wiper motor base to get it clocked in a better position.

With as much as we have done. There is a lot we have not done to this car. It is meant to be driven and have fun like his 57 chevy with and LS9 on one of our frames.

Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the explanation. Can you tell me what you had to do to the wiper motor as far as the modifications? I looked it up, not a bad price, but I like the way you have it clocked compared to their picture on the website.

Just cut and reweld something to reclock it. It was not tough but man we work on so much stuff I forget the actual process of what was done. It was not tough but made quite a bit more room.

Here is a glimpse of the front seats. I took inspiration from the New Dodge Dart commercial I saw on TV, Frank new Acadia Denali, and the new Camaro for this design. And of course the original Chevelle.

WILWAXU 04-02-2013 05:18 AM

Yup.. this one gets better and better at every update.

rkleypas 04-02-2013 06:17 PM

The seats look fantastic. Are those the originals? I can't wait to see the plan for the shoulder harness as I have a 70 vert that I really want a little extra protection for. Awesome car btw...

ironworks 04-02-2013 10:53 PM

Thanks guys.

214Chevy 04-03-2013 05:09 AM

Rodger, now those seats make me want to put the originals back in my Chevelle. Those are beautiful and the new twist makes them more desirable. Are they leather?

ironworks 04-19-2013 09:42 AM

We got the car to Del Mar and the customer joined us at the show on Saturday at the event. He loved the details on the car. We are getting everything else sorted out on the car we are going to begin putting some miles on the car getting it ready for the road and maybe some track events this summer. Here are a few over all pics of the car.

Thanks, We are going to play with the ride height once we get everything bolted on. Its kinda crazy to see the transformation that has happened with the car without really changing the paint or vinyl top.
