Sometimes "less" is "more"..... I'd vote for mounting the rails on the inside so as not to distract from the best million dollar intake in the Universe!
Love ya AL! GW |
Greg wouldn't that require removal of the intake just to get to the injectors? Of course, if it's just a showcar then who cares : D

How many times anyone on here had to mess with their injectors.... I've had EFI cars for years now -- never had to mess with 'em after the build was done and tuned. |
Good point. During my build I've messed with them 5x. Fun :P

Oh snap! |
Awesome looking intake. I like them on the inside too but outside won't detract anything.

It is! Is there any info what kind of low speed / street manner it has? Can it be used with stock cam ? |
Ls3 engine
This is mental !!!!! I am finishing my 66 GTO protour wth Ls3 and people are prasing me. Fack my car ! You guys have depressed me massively, I want to stab myself in the neck ..lol
Please Nathan, anyway you can post a simple step by step (highlevel) of how you did the motor and paint, I have gone through the forum. But something consolidated for "numpties" like me would be extremely grateful. I am pulling my motor in November and doing the exact same, imitation is the greatest form of flattery .. Please email me steps to my gmail please or post for the engine, just want the esthics part, the paint codes ? the sanding required ? all the paints used on the headers and rest, have 430 to wheel 515 at crank, happy with that. ([email protected]) Link to my weak build compared to yours ! Lovely work man !!!!!! http://www.pro-touring.com/threads/9...gto+hell+beast PS - how much horse and torque you have in that LS3 ? Jamie sent me some pics of a first gen that has the same intake but with the shorter runners. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psad4c90e3.png http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...pseb2038ef.png Should be interesting to see how the longer runners will look. |
Quote:
Anytime you make a change to the heads or intake, a custom cam should be specified for maximum performance. That said, the runner length on this intake is only about 1" shorter than a stock GM LS7 manifold and will work well on a stock cam. Regards, Jamie |
Ls3
Where are the valve covers from please and how much ?

Thanks guys, i personally prefer oem looks on many LS parts but this manifold tops it all. After i have my car dialed up, this is next mod. |
Here is a link in parts where Jay @ABS had a set and may still havehttps://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=43887

Speaking of details...... The plastic factory PS tank wasn't in keeping with the rest of the project so a CV kit was ordered. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps07722170.png The kit brings two sets of bracket to giving different mounting options. Unfortunately neither of the two brackets worked with the fifth gen setup. So it was decided to mount the tank remotely. Unfortunately again the piece the tank mounts to was to short to mount it to the shock tower. So it had to be extended. My buddy at HM Racing and Design milled a piece to weld onto the CV piece. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psc1aa3681.jpg The two pieces were then welded together. The back side was given an angle cut to match the slope of the shock tower. Holes were drilled at the same angle as the shock tower so that the bolts would sit flush to the sheet metal. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psa2c57776.jpg Finally the boys smooth it out so it would like look like it came that way from CV. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psbc70ff99.jpg And finally the almost finished product.Still need to get anodized. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psd95220be.jpg Lot of work went into making something look so simple. What I covered was just the high lights. |
Al;That looks great as always! How much does that cup hold?
|
Unreal.. Al , this is best ever. Keep us updated please.
|
Al I've said it before and will say it again unbelievable work your boys have put into this car or rolling art I should say!! I really can't wait to see it in person!!
|
Someone has pretty good photoshop skills, because this can't be real... :confused59:
In all honesty This build is freaking unreal! |

The stamped factory rear cradle is being replace with a custom chrome-moly tubular deal. Here are a couple of pics of the jig being fabricated. Should drop another 60 - 70 lbs. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps46c6d9eb.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psaff16a07.jpg |
Update?
Its been a couple of months, what have the boys been up to? |
I'm interested too Al.

Justin flew to Wisconsin Wednesday and will be there for two weeks. He is helping Craig at Xtreme get the rear cradle done. Here are couple of pictures of the rear frame rails being mockup up. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psc0db9a86.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6a4cffc5.jpg The new OZMO and NW TB are in. Jamie (Owner) said it's his favorite intake. The boys are still giving it their touch". Some guys can't leave well enough alone, LOL. Jamie is also milling a billet valley plate. Should be here in a week or so. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps317168b1.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psc31146d8.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psd8d0af17.jpg The lines on the reservoir were replaced with crimped end for a cleaner look. (See the pictures on the top of the page to compare the difference) http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5324d81e.jpg One of the implication with the new intake is the TB now sits higher and further forward. This created to steep of an angle downward from the TB to the air intake for the shorter distance. The solution is to push engine back 2" and lower it 1". The domino effect is that the radiator hose, motor mounts, trans mount, exhuast cross bracing, drive shaft will need to be modified. Currently the headers are the lowest point under the car. They sit about an 1.5" below the frame rail. To compensate for the engine drop a new set custom one off headers and exhuast setup is also part of the plan. When done the frame rails will be the lowest point. Seems like a lot of work but the added benefit will be the transfer of weight. Craig explained as a rule of thumb in racing every inch takes 100 lbs off front It might actually just be 75 lbs but 100 lbs is the rule of thumb. Lowering the center of gravity which should help. Still waiting on a few parts to start on version 2.0 of the track inspired engine. Drive sump pan, pump and dampener are in. Just waiting on the new track inspired cam and TD rockers. The Lingenfelter LS3 heads might also get replaced with Trick Flow new casting. Pat G likes them better the the Mast. Bill Dailey recommended to use two separate inline filter. A 75 micron from the pump to the tank. A 25 micron from the cooler to the engine. Justin design on Auto-CAD these cool clamps to mount one on each frame rail. The brackets follow the contour of the rails and the filters appear to be siting on the top of the actual rails. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psdc0fcf29.png http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps116623a9.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1904f1d9.jpg Lastly, Dan is finishing up the rendering. Hopefully he will have them done tomorrow. In my opinion the primarily one he showed us is perfect as is but being the perfectionist his is, he wanted to tweak them some more. I will post picks when we get the final product. Just expect to be blown away! . |
:king: :king: :king: :king:
(speechless and don't really know what to say so I just posted "king" emoticon four times." |
Wow Al just WOW!!!! That's all I got!!! Well and I love it!!!
|
What a fantastic project Al... You have to be like the greatest Father in the entire Universe!
Amazing work and attention to detail. |
Art. Pure art. I want an engine like that so I can encase it in glass and use it as a centerpiece in my living room.
|
Amazing detail as usual. Just loooks soooo right!!!
Are you powder coating these parts or anodizing them? if powder, what color is that? thanx, mike |

nice work you guys!!

So, this car will actually be raced? Did I read that correctly?
This would be an award winning trailer queen in anybody's book, and never get driven, let alone raced! The work put into this car is second to no one else's! This is top tier ISCA stuff! |

Mark said this pluming stuff is like an art in and of itself and hes not kidding. It takes as much thought as just about anything else. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psdeca1afb.jpg I chomping at the bit to post the rendering from Dan but he wants to do a few final changes. The car looks more like something that was done by a European tuner. You'll see what I mean as soon we get the final version. |
Incredible looking and I can't wait to see the rendering.
So what will be the final color of the outside of the car ? |
