I know I know the intake was made in China but I really dig the look and its in my price range. Jeff is running it and had nothing but rave reviews. I wont be racing it or adding power adders so I should be fine.

The car looks incredible! Of course you know I'm a fan of the look you went with on the car. And don't worry about the intake if that's what your budget allow and you like it then don't sweat what other people think.
|
Looks killer! Great progress! Keep at it you are getting close!
So what white did you end up going with? |
Thanks boys it's a long time coming. I'm gonna burn through a set of tires in a weekend lol. Tony I went with Toyota white code 44. Gotta thank Joe from the Dutch Boys for the tip! It looks real crisp in the sun!!!
|
Outstanding! You nailed everything: color, wheels, stance... everything!

Im always curious of how others have run their fuel systems. Heres a few pics of how I accomplished mine.

The car looks gorgeous! Great job on it. The intake really dresses up the engine bay.
|
thats a lot of hose. I don't like how close it looks to your tailpipes. I used hardline and then a nice 12" line from the hardline to the tank. Another thing i noticed is that you are using the clip style efi connectors. I hard they leak and have caused fires so i went with the new upgraded style.
notice this style http://www.jegs.com/i/Russell/799/644113/10002/-1 |
It's not regular hose. It's braided nylon with steel inside the hose. It had to be cut with a cut off wheel just like you would use with regular stainless braided. The tail pipes are a little close but I'm gonna wrap the lines with heat shield wrap and gonna make up a heat shield for the fuel filter. I have been using the push style connectors on GMs for ever and never had an issue. Just figured if GM has used them this long it must be good enough for my application. But thanks for the tip on the other style.

I just read thru the entire thread, your car looks amazing and I love the intake. If you dont mind me asking what brand of fuel line did you use and where did you get the clamps for the fuel line? Especially the duel clamps I am getting ready to do my fuel system and I love the looks of yours. Thanks ahead of time.
|
Thanks for the compliment. I got the fuel line and clamps from torontoturbo.com here local. I'm sure Jason would ship them out. The single clamps are the double clamp just trimmed down for single application. I hope this helps u out.

Your car looks great! Love the clean look of the gauges. They look perfect in the DSE dash. What are they? Is the tach & speedo between the sizes of 3-34" & 5"?
Bill |
The gauges are 4 3/8 and the dash insert is a steel piece I had made up from the 69 nova slightly tweaked to fit my car. The manufacturer performance vehicle works. Tim is a great guy to work with. It's been a few years since they made it for me.
|
Thanks for the reply. I was interested in the gauges....whose are they?
|
The gauges are new vintage USA.
|
Nice build. I was looking at that intake as well. where did you order yours from? Im thinking its better than what I have now on my 6.0L. I have a ls1 intake. Nice car. will be following your build.
|
Thanks. I really like this intake and have seen it in action. I got mine from Paradise Road Rod and custom. Speak to Tanner he's a great guy to deal with.

Hey guys I'm very humbled by the kind words. No words can express how I'm feeling these past few months. I couldn't be more proud so I gave it all I got with a lot of help from great friends and family. I just hope it behaves the day of which is next week. Fingers crossed and thanks again for all the compliments.
