Steve car looks great, are you sure that not a show car... LOL
|
That is a sick car.
What is the ride hight? |
Quote:
Do you mean how much clearance do I have? I have quite a bit. Quote:
Show cars just sit around.. this one will gather no moss ;) |
Is the stance in the picture ride height?
|
Quote:
Yep.. Unless I have issues, but the first drive was good and the suspension is faily stiff. Plus my exhaust is tucked up nice and tight. I have a great turning radius.. I was acutally amazed. |
I need to kow what you think of the new front spring rate as I need to order new springs for mine. BTW, it looks killer, low like mine...but not too low!!

In other news I guess I'm commited to having my car in Wilwood's booth!
http://picsorban.com/upload/elec2.jpg I didn't know they were doing this until this flyer show up at work. The pressure!!! :willy: Eric Thornson (does all the interiors for Steve Strope) has been busy on my interior. I wanted something that looked simple and OEM. He is doing the carpet in a "small loop" that just a tighter version of the factory carpet and the door panels are in a black leather that has a grain pattern to match the dash pad. The main reason was to delete the arm rest areas since my door bars are my arm rests. He is also covering some of the cage bars in the same leather. Here's the door panel he fabbed out of aluminum. He likes it better than cardboad since it keeps his shape and wont tear if removed. He should be done by this Saturday. http://picsorban.com/upload/elec3.jpg |
The interior is almost done.. Eric Thornson did the carpet, the back seat blockoff and he covered many of the cage bars in leather.
I also installed the G2X Rackpak GPS track computer. It's coming along nicely. All he has to do now if finish the door panels. They will have an OEM retro look. He does very good work, in fact the other car he's working on for SEMA is Steve Strope's Torino. http://picsorban.com/upload/interior2.jpg Here are the panels. They will incorporate the factory CAMARO emblem and won't have arm rests due to my door bar. There will be a pull tap to close the door (you can see it in the first picture). http://picsorban.com/upload/interior3.jpg |
Thanks for the update! So Close!!
DUMB ? Alert: How are you opening the doors from the inside? Still installing a handle inside? |
Everytime I look at this car, it makes me want to just cover mine up in embarassment.lol. Steve, that car is awsome.
|
Yes, I think the first word that comes to mind is "tasteful". Everything is perfect.

Are you planning on having posters made up at SEMA?
|
Quote:
But thanks for the compliment. She came out better than I planned (I guess that's better than the other way around.. lol) Quote:
I can't wait to see the door panels, I think Eric will nail my vision for them. Quote:

Quote:
i see 2 holes in the door panel, 1 for the window crank, the other for the handle? |
Quote:
And there's a hole in the top for a pull tab (to pull the door closed). |
Looks good! Wilwood is deffinatly first on my list to stop by!!
|
Making some nice interior progress now!
Less is more with your car. I was worried at one point concerning the interior. This was based on how well the exterior, engine compartment, stance and all was coming along so nicely. Should of know better...... Looooooking very good.... R.P. |
bad penny spooted on road.
Well I was sitting in my office and Bad Penny drove buy, i work down the street from WillWood, who has Steves phone number? I want to go over and see it since i cant make SEMA this year.

How did she look driving by? As stated she is officially back on the road. I drove her about 20 miles from the interior guy to Wilwood where they are going to fine-tune my brakes. About the only "road issue" I had were a few small rattles and such that I need to track down. Here she is at Wilwood, damn they have a NICE shop! http://picsorban.com/upload/pennyshop.jpg |
Drool Drool Drool,
just returned from Willwood and being showed around by Mike Hamrick, Steve you have one beutiful car, paint is amazing, interior is Bitchen, I'm just jelous and need to get off my dead ass and finish my car. As for how your car looks going down the road its bad ass, all i could see from my office was the rear end but it was like for 100 yards before it was out of sight, I'm sure its going to be a view that lots of people will only see, congrats and enjoy SEMA, oh and I think i need to paint my new black callipers red now. |
Quote:
Cool, did they let ya pop the hood? Now go work on your ride so we can organize a cruise of first gen Camaros! lol |

I will post up times when I know. |

Looks great!! Congrats on getting it back on the road and ready for SEMA in time! I bet you were nervous as hell driving it over there!!
|
On the road again, just can't wait to get on the
road again. So did you load that tune up in your Ipod?
Congrats on gettting you car finished for the second time. So was it an easy ride or did you flog it just a little? It would not hurt my feelings to see a syp pic of the finished interior either. How did those R888 feel? |
Steve,
yes the hood was open and all the wheels were off, this gave me a nice view of all the workings, I think i will upgrade to the larger 4 piston rears like yours and the 13" rear to match my fronts. |
Quote:
I just need to get my "sea legs" back. I also need to mess with shock settings and do a bunch of "fine tuning". I stopped at the gas station to put in some fuel (only had 4 gallons in it). I start to put in 91 and then notice the station sells 100 octane. What the hell, I put in 10 gallons of the 100 octane. Not needed but I might as well start off on a good note. lol Quote:
The R888s felt great. The didn't "hunt" down the ruts in the road at all. I think they might of been a touch noisier than the RA1s. Engine temp never went over 190 and the fuel pressure held steady at 59psi.. so far so good. Quote:
I will be happy when it's sitting in the SEMA booth and I have a beer in my hand. :) |
Steve,
did they tell you why you had mushy brakes, they told me:D |
Quote:
;) |
fess up what was it?? lol
prop valve? small leak? what? |
Quote:
lol.. a combination of things. Air in the master, the prop valve somehow got WAY out of adjustment. All better now :) Here's the done door panel.. very simple and, I think, clean design. http://picsorban.com/upload/buff9.jpg |
I'll call you Tuesday, so Scott and I can hook up at your car. We want the deluxe tour! :D
Jody |
steve if you dont mind me asking how much did door panels like that run you... and do you know what material they used to make them (top and bottom piece over the sheetmetal) thanks, cant wait to see the car at tylers...
|
Quote:
The back panels have the same OEM look. |
Much better than what was in there.
Just the right amount of "new" combined with the OE look. Overall theme of your car is dead nuts on!
Can't wait to see it in person at the Wilwood booth. |
Steve,
Like the new door panels with the pull strap, very 73 Porsche RS looking.. gray |

Here's a cool pic Tom took in Vegas of her driving to the convention center. Tyler (ATS) is riding shotgun. http://picsorban.com/upload/on the road.jpg |
