I really appreciate that Greg and I'm sorry we never hooked up last time. If you give me a day or two heads up I wouldn't mind meeting you as well.
I'm also trying to put together Laguna, the guys are running the Charger again and I need to get outta town. Let me know when you plan to head over. Dan |
Greg welds race car
Chet's car originally had global west parts in front
with their shocks Lincoln brakes out front and sat real high I had custom alignment strip everything off changed springs, shocks put the overrides on it and had them set it as low as they could Also put the baier brakes out front I missed the first track event because I was sick so I auto crossed the next week I remember Mike Maier looking under it while I was working the course Not much of an auto cross car but on the track it was so easy to drive It was so low it would scrape the headers on the rumble strips at the start of thunderhill's front straight. I finally put a set of shorties on it At 2810lbs it would go almost anywhere on the track When I got better running it I could hear the shock towers creaking Welded them later:). I only had 455 hp and could run in the top of the Shelby blue group with no problems. I finally scattered the motor and then had the 530hp 331 built I never did track it before I sold it to Chet. It was a great car to run but not like my Pantera and my Firebird felt neglected Glad to see it is being used like it should be I really had fun and learned how to track in that car but I really am not a mustang guy Panteracer NorCal Bob I hope to fire the bird up again after installing the new rocker shaft system Tomorrow |
Bob --- I can tell you -- having ridden with Chet many sessions == that he drives it like he stole it. He LOVES that car.... so it went to a good home.

Greg Weld's track car
Greg
Do you know if Chet is working on the 69 camero shell I sold him. Since he is really a GM guy he wanted to do a Penske Trans am clone. I have not been to any NorCal Shelby events lately so I do not see him He told me that if he bent the mustang up no big deal since he is a GM guy. That is why he drives like he stole it I have three friends that keep telling me they wish they would have bought that car Panteracer NorCal Bob |

I'm pretty sure I rode shotgun with Kevin Sittner in Chet's Mustang at Spring Sprint last year. Is the Mustang in question? https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hpho...04508350_n.jpg |
That's it Carl --- Kevin is his race tech! And a great guy.

Yes that is Chet's car.. I sold it to him a few
years back.. he has a hobby store in Sacto and is a big GM guy... he has some cool stuff.. I delivered the car to his place and got a tour.. really nice guy I had 11 really good track days in that car until I scattered the back two pistons all over the front straight Panteracer Norcal Bob |
