The original incarnation made 673hp & 572#. 9 days on the dyno, 5 camshafts, 6 rocker arm combinations, 5 intake manifolds, 3 sets of headers, 3 carburetors, 2 days tweaking the fuel curve later ... whew ... and it now makes 731hp & 599#. :trophy-1302: . |

Ron, care to give me your educated guess of my engine results (hp/tq) based on what you know about it? :rules: |

Whats it going over to S&S for ? i thought you were assembled and ready to go, no?
They are a top notch machine shop for as far back as i can remember, my family lived in that hood for 40+ years. I dont know them personally, but they did the machine work on my engine for my boat through a machine shop..... Do they dyno and tune? |

Sure! I need a few more details ... Carb or EFI size in CFM Compression ratio Rod length 6.0" or ? Are the heads SB2 or SB2.2 Are the cylinder head intake runners 286cc or different ? Header primary diameter & length Collector diameter & length Cam degreed at ??? Is cam a roller or big lifter flat tappet? Also: Is this a 4.4" or 4.5" bore center block & head combo? If you don't have it all, just get me what you can. |
Congrats on getting the engine ready for the dyno, Dave. Here's hoping you hit 800

Can't wait to see what she does. Hearing these motors fire up always gets my blood pumping. Never gets old! Your motor looks awesome btw!!

And Big Red can run whatever spoiler it wants. It can't not go fast. :D Quote:

Compression is 13:1 6.0" rods Heads are SB2.2 worked by Curtis Boggs @ RFD in Virginia. I am guessing you know of him or have heard of him. Peak is 410-420 cfm at .900 but around 395-400 at .700 closer to where my cam net lift ends up. Low and mid lift numbers are strong. The work done was intended for road race (vs the Nascar CNC programs) and not max hp at high rpm. Header is stepped 1-3/4 to 1-7/8 to 2.... 3.5 collector. Do not have length. It is a Profab Nascar type take off I believe. Do not know cam degree number. Cam solid roller. Block is Dart Little M -- not a Bowtie/SB2 block.... so that must make it 4.4" I am guessing. Quote:

That's great DG all you had to do was tell Ron look back at last Octobers posts for engine specs.:stirthepot:
Any real updates?:lmao: |
Ok.... wheels are finally done and on the car. I give you the Jongbloed Racing 330 wheel.... done locally in Morgan Hill.
18x12 front and 18x13 rear on 315 and 335 Hoosier A6's. http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...ps64b80e79.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...psf2c5c238.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...psb73a6a84.jpg |
And the car is one the ground off the lift for the first time in probably 6 months. That's always a step forward.

Rich has been working on the fuel cell cage and I am really happy with how it's turning out. Just needs some top bars/straps and powdercoating. I gave Rich the "blueprints" for the cage found in Circle Track magazine. It uses about 50 feet of 1x1 square tubing. Heavy and a little overkill but about as safe as I can get I figure.

And I thought the front of my car had stupid amounts of camber when I was looking at it the other day. BMF looks nothing but serious business now. And those wheels... I kind of really want some now.
