Dumb question for everyone
 

Not intended to highjack thread but I'm sure there are many novices, (like me), reading this build thread and some might have this question:

How would the elimination of the 4 point roll bar affect the chassis, (specifically first gen Camaro)?

I'm very interested to know if this is a must have to keep car from twisting. In your opinion, would it be useless to spend the money on subframe and aftermarket rear suspension and not add a roll bar?

I have two boys under 5 that I'd like to share this hobby with and would like to weigh out options. I'm 80% certain I'd rather be able to put them in the back seat without a roll bar versus having a two seat Camaro that gains the last x% of performance.

You can always have a removable cross bar for the times you are street cruisin'.

Or maybe you don't need 800 some odd ft-lbs of torque and therefore also not the cage?

Did this car ever see a chassis dyno in the current tune ? Probably a dumb question because I can't imagine it hasn't been posted on this thread. Would be interesting to see the comparison to the engine dyno.

Good points about the engine and leaks. I thought I was the only one. Always finding little (and not so little drips) here and there. Always thought braided hoses and AN fittings were the bomb but now I"m finding that most of them end up leaking a bit too. Usually around the hose/joint interface, or I suspect on the swivel fittings maybe the swivel area, hard to say, you can clean it up and idle and driveway rev it all day long - no leaks. Street drive, mild leaks. Track drive - messy leaks. I couldn't afford it during buildup, but slowly I'm replacing my hand built hoses with pro-crimped style. Saves weight too.

With the latest artivcle from Hot Rod on the PTFE hoses I'm trying to figure out which ones are teflon as well. The Aeroquip startlite stuff is still rubber hose. My fuel is all teflon but its the old style stiff teflon stuff.

Anyway don't want to hijack into a hose topic, just letting you know I appreciate your excitement about a leak free motor.
