Then you already know it's not that far to go take some "good pics" of your beast. ;)

Yeah that Vince is Mr. Personality. Kinda like Jerry, Gaetano, Todd, Dave, Roger, Greg, and 90% of the Lat-G crew.

Yeah, so that pic was a 'fender on, ride height reality check.' Fenders are off already. Few more mods and they go back on for good! I'll snap a couple this weekend...

Okay Ron, you started a wheel thread a few weeks back and said you made a decision. Which ones did you go with? Curiosity is getting the best of me here.

Hey Chris...how's the motor project going? You oughta post some updates cause Dave's getting all the play here...:D

No change yet as cosmetics are taking a back seat on the priority list. I'm thinking 18/19 step lip to get the look I'm after. It won't be a huge depature from the current set up style or color wise. Forgelines or HREs are top of the list. I did toy w the the idea of HRE P40s in a dark tint but I'm not sure they're right for a muscle car.

You know what brand of wheel I say go with Ron. :unibrow: :unibrow: The P40's are an excellent wheel choice, but it's a monoblock wheel with no lip. Therefore, the step lips are not an option.

It's going slowly Ron. It took a back seat to pay for some rounds of IVF that my wife and I are going through in an attempt to finally get a baby on board. It's part of the reason I was selling so much a few months ago. However, I've gotten some things squared away and a little better financial footing to the point where I'm finally going to start buying new parts in about a week. It'll be nice to finally be putting things back together and on my way towards version 2.0. When the first round of parts come in, I'll start a new project build thread and describe what's planned. Got some small suspension, braking, and structure improvements to make first while the car's apart in order to better deal with the extra projected torque and speed. Nothing as fancy as yours, just some minor non-groundbreaking stuff. Then I'll concentrate on the engine and a manual transmission setup.

Your tastes in wheels are very similar to mine. I've been flip-flopping back and forth between the HRE and Forgeline sites myself a lot recently, and a few others also. I would have to agree with you, I'm not sure the P40's are right for a muscle car with those spokes flush to the outside of the rim like that. Seems more like a good rim for a German or modern car. At RTTC and Del Mar GG, the DSE team had a gorgeous HRE mesh rim with a wide tire mounted on it sitting in their product display area. Did you see it? It was painted in a gunmetal color(or maybe had a tinted clearcoat?) with a brushed rim I think. When I saw it I immediately thought of your ride. The color of your car is perfect for a wheel with really any shade of metal. Could be brushed, tinted, silver powdercoated, or even black, and it'll look great. I would do a different shade than the color of your car though, just to have a little contrast. A polished or brushed hoop would work great also, although I'd probably lean towards a polished hoop if you're running chrome bumpers and/or polished window trim. Anyway, it's all up to you my friend. It's one of those good problems to have.

So $$$'s good. IVF's good. Sounds like a perfect recipe for muscle car engine and suspension mods :D J/k Chris! G-d bless you guys and I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a postive outcome...

Oh, and black or contrast on the wheels for sure! I saw a Porsche on the HRE gallery that had a similar color to mine and brushed/titanium (?) tinted clear. Very close color combo but looked sick. Maybe I'm old school, but something just doesn't click for me in my head if the wheels and car color are too close. I will say there was a 68 on PT that painted his mags the same color as his car and it did look good. I'm thinking if I do make a change and go w HREs, I'll ask them to show me a very dark tinted clear over brushed and see how that looks. Not sure, but I think they have a charcoal clear?
