Thanks buddy.

Appreciate the kind words. I'll miss her for sure.

It sounds like she's going out on the right foot. Always a dominator on the street and track. I'll never forget pulling up to a stop light next to a Dodge Challenger and he was show boating before he got to the light. The Wife looks over/looks back to her Husband and then must of nearly suffered whiplash looking back over. I gave it a rev, left them in the dust when the light turned green and they took the first turn. He probably needed some Viagra that night.

Matt, I appreciate you and the guys at BOS taking her down there and winning an award is awesome.

Don't mention it. I'm sure Dick was equally happy that you didn't mind having your car down there. It was a tough job, and a bit of a burden having to drive that car own there and back, but someone had to do it. :D I totally wished she was mine when the new ZL1 pulled up at the stop beside me, it would have been nice to do a little more than show off the ZL1's bark. However, just the idle made the new car's owner afraid to get on it until he turned to get on the freeway. Whoever winds up with this car is getting a great deal. Drives and rides amazingly well on the street!

Matt

I had a feeling. :unibrow: Glad you got to take it for a spin before it goes to it's new home.

hey todd

Vegas69 08-12-2012 11:23 AM

As of this morning, the car is back up for sale.

CRCRFT78 08-12-2012 11:27 AM

Uh oh. Buyer have second thoughts on the purchase?

Vegas69 08-12-2012 11:31 AM

I don't want a bunch of questions here guys. :) The buyer failed to fund the purchase by the deadline so it's back up for grabs.

intocarss 08-12-2012 11:36 AM

Two words KEEP IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Track Junky 08-12-2012 01:41 PM

Bite your tongue mister. We want to see Todd build something he doesn't have to be too worried about thrashing.:unibrow:

Vegas69 08-12-2012 04:31 PM

Back on Ebay, here's your second chance at the car. I have retained the right to sell it outside of Ebay.

Vegas69 08-17-2012 08:53 PM

The car is officially ready for inspection and delivery. Best of Show has her looking great. The nose debris blemishes have been fixed and they put a complete massage on the paint job. I'm talking about over 4 full days of labor. They also have the AC blowing ice cold and the seat belt cross bar painted to match.

This is one of the finest 69 Camaro's on the planet today. Here's your chance to pick up the car at .50-.60 cents on the dollar vs. build cost. Additionally, it's sorted out beyond 99 out of 100 cars in this genre.

The car will be in Southern, CA until September 9th. I've already been offered a prime Saturday afternoon spot with Mecum. Make me a reasonable offer and let's save you some money and me some time.

Dick and the boys at BOS will have it at the Encinitas car show this weekend.

Looks great..since it is in Socal till 9/9 does that mean you are going to beat on it one more time at Adams go kart track on 9/8?

Vegas69 08-17-2012 09:53 PM

She'll stay fresh until the new owner takes possession.

Vegas69 08-18-2012 11:19 AM

New price is $99,900.

67ragtp 08-18-2012 12:19 PM

Todd,

You did a great job building and sorting that car, good luck with the sale.

Looking forward to seeing your next adventure

Rich

John510 08-18-2012 04:58 PM

I wish I had a spare 100K to spend right now

waynieZ 08-19-2012 09:12 PM

Good luck Todd. It was a steal at the old price.

Vegas69 08-20-2012 08:52 AM

I agree, the car is a steal. I was just telling an interested buyer this morning that I have North of 130k in this car and I have 2000 hours of labor in it MYSELF. The engine is over 25k and I have over 40k just in the shell. He was concerned with depreciation in the future. My response, "You can build it for $175,000)" and that's no exageration. The car has been depreciated by my back pocket. It's fresh and clean and worth the asking price. If it doesn't go down the road soon at this price, it's going to auction. End of story.

itsals1 08-21-2012 06:22 PM

Hope it goes to good home,it's looks to be a great deal! But what I was wondering is how well you like the Sparco seats?

Travis

camaro1969 08-23-2012 05:30 PM

hey todd i was just looking over your auction, the bottom of your description, it says asking 110,000, and then has the auction at 99,900, may want to fix that make sure no buyer has any confusion.

anyways good luck in the sale.

Meet the new owner. It looks like Payback will spend the rest of her life in Texas. I couldn't be happier with the new owner and the situation. He has a 25 year old son and they have a huge passion for cars. They do plan to use it and occassionally run an autcross. I took him for a ride and showed him about 70% of it's capability. He's got respect for the car now  and I'm hoping he gives her hell every chance he gets. He's already talking tail pipes and fuel injection.

It's been a fun ride. It's time for some new interests, goals, and another build down the road. The friends and experiences are by far the best side effect of all the time and effort. I hope the new owner finds the same positive results.

89 RS 09-14-2012 10:19 PM

He'll just follow Dave's lead. That thread is the longest on here and hasn't mentioned a car part in months

Congratulations on the sale. I can't image not having some sellers remorse right now but it should pass.
