nosense... unless you wanted to polish it there is no need for aluminum... i am not in total agreement on the engine choice... i think there is more bang for the buck in a chevy LS engine.... but for gods sake dont change a thing... doing so in mid build always costs money

its plain awesome... so post moer pics please..

also didi you go by some plans for the frame, or just a picture and the seat of your pants??

It has room for four buttons, I figure one for the dimmer switch, two for spray (arm and blast), but what about the fourth?

You don't build utility trucks do you?

Don't you just love 5-S and Kaizen events, they are soo much fun. Just what is this part, it looks like some type of joy-stick for a truck of some sort. Also where are you from, I see you mentioned Extreme powder coating , is that the one in Blooming Prarie MN?

I live in the southeast metro, twin cities Minnesota. I work for a supplier to truck equipment dealers. Yes it is a joystick from one of our plow truck controllers. Our 5s has been winding down for a while now, but it was worth it our facility got the green light to skip physical inventory for the first time in company history. Anyone local is welcome to stop by the garage, and check it out in person.

When I saw the joystick and you said 5-s I wondered. I work for Altec.

Same here, I'm in Southern MN and work for McNeilus Co. It almost looked like one of our joysticks out of our cement mixers. Boy it sure would be nice to skip inventory here, haven't done that for years.

More beaten aluminum

Well I've gotten a few of the panels for the firewall pounded out (literally) so here are the obligatory pictures. I have all the pieces cut out for the rest but I'm fitting them up and trimming to fit as I go. When I get them all fitted I will go back and do the final trimming and cleanup. Then I will coat them with some sort of textured coating and get them riveted in place.

Oh, by the way here is proof that I must hate myself, the top of the foot box is made from one piece of metal Aluminum origami.
