Got a little swap done this weekend and got both fender wells on, the inner fenders looks almost like new metal with nothing covering them! - will need to epoxy prime these after bits of rust is repaired. Then I started fabing block off plates for fenders
Check out new cold air - what ya think cut a hole in center of T/A hood and put a cone filter on top? man gotta cut back on drinkin and workin at the same time?

Do not tighten up the inner fenders wells until you have the front end, as in headlight surrounds, core support, lower valance, hood on and aligned etc. assembled. The inner wheel wells will prevent you from obtaining perfect gaps. Tighten them after final assembly. Love the 69 Trans Am's.

Tim John that's a good tip!
have a little update, got some work done on the air intake just need to find someone to tig it for me
happy with results never fabbed anything like this before so had to make a few cuts and see where it went. Definitely not professional I'm sure most would cut tubing with a band saw? I made due with my Sawzall :superhack: :knock:
now once its been welded up- trying to decide what finish to put on it - raw? powder coat? bedliner? insulate it?

I think I saw this car at a shop a few years back over off of Forney Rd in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas. Behind that tire shop. Am I correct?

My vote would be any coating that helps insulate as a priority.

If you can do a Ceramic type barrier coating that insulates inside & out, you should. You can also then wrap the outside w/a secondary heat barrier (flexible exhaust wrap). Anything that helps prevent under hood heat from transferring which will impact the incoming air.
