Do you have some sort of ninja book I should read I need to learn how to do that.
A few of these:hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail:

And to all the tough guys with the guns GIMME A BREAK just like John Stossel.

Honestly, it all happened so fast it was like a blur. It's not like I planned this all out as I was approaching the guy. I just reacted. One minute I'm all pissed off slithering around the front of the car and the next the guys on the ground gurgling. I guess I was so pissed I just went into automatic mode. It just kind of happened.
If I was smart I would have brought a tire iron with me but, again, I was all wound up and wasn't thinking. I just thank god that this idiot didn't have a gun. A knife I can handle for the most part but getting around a gun is near impossible and much more lethal.

All these guys say they would have done the same but it's doubtful. I applaud you for taking a stand man.

A topic about defending your property comes up, and you don't expect guns to be brought up? If this thief had been armed, or even just a better fighter, we'd sadly be talking about a completely different topic. Looking at this from a logical standpoint, going after the thief unarmed is a good way to get yourself killed. I'm sure logical and rational thought didn't enter into the situation though... like he says, he just reacted.

:rofl:If we thought we were tough-guys, we wouldn't need the guns. We'd just kick their asses.

I commend the OP for his brass balls and fighting skills used to take this guy down, but in all honesty, I think it was a bad decision and he got lucky.

Top man John. Way to defend your property. Yeah calling the cops sounds nice, but once you confront someone at your house, they are not likely to come back. If he does, then you kill him. I don't care if the property is only worth $20 dollars, it's your property and if someone thinks he can take something that belongs to you, then he absolutely deserves some street justice. Thumbs up to you John.

I agree with you Derek. My confronting him was probably not the smartest thing to do.

Now that I've had a chance to think about it the situation could have gone very badly. I guess whatever logic I had in that heightened state was to at least confront the guy face to face so that he knew I wan't going to just lay down. I thought that he would just run away. I didn't expect him to lunge at me like that. Once the adrenalin took over it was all a blur!

Most perps understand the response time and how the legal system works(or doesn't work for the most part!). I had a retail store and thieves would do "smash and grabs" by breaking the storefront window and taking as much as they could within a few minutes. They knew that the cops couldn't get there that fast and it took at least that long for the alarm company to call me first and for me to authorize them to call the cops.

I guess, at the time, something snapped in me and I just said "NO MORE!"
