like it or not, you have to admit that the builder has a good eye and i think it "meshes" well. ive seen some hacked up 2010's that want to look like 69's but this first gen is far from a hack job. kuddos to the skill and talent of this builder. its outside the box and definately unique.

Project Scar looks like it is progressing nicely, love it or hate it I think it's got a lot of creativity and excellent fab work. Cannot wait to see it in paint. I must say that the Grumpy Jenkins tribute car is one of my favorite custom builds that I have seen. I have saved absolutely every picture that I come across. I would love to see some finished interior pics if you have any. The thing I like most about the build is that it accentuates the original character of the camaro. Keep up the great work.

One of the latest projects being built by Roger Burman at the Lakeside Rods shop is a 67 Camaro for Karen Leisinger. Karen has had several first gen camaros built, but couldn’t convince herself to purchase a 2010. So Roger and Karen decided to make the best of both worlds. The car will be powered by a Warren Johnson racing 500 Cu in LSX motor. Horsepower will be somewhere in the range of 1000+. The motor is backed up by a Gearstar 200R4 Trans and a Detroit Speed Suspension. Look for Karen and Roger at one of the Good Guys’ events. Keep checking Eric Brockmeyer’s website to see the rendering of “Scar”.

More info and pictures to come as the build progresses.

==================================
To All:

I think the car is fresh.

1) I had to make a double take whether the car was a 67 going to a 2010 or the other way around

2) It reminds me in a way of one of the cars you see in a futuristic movie. You know what car it started out to be, but it was someones interpetation of a futuristic, "Dark", Camaro

3) It will be a car that will always grab people eyes at a car rally. "Either you love it, or you hate it"

4) This is to be expected in this hobby. I used to follow the traditional, "Hot Rods". I have seen 5000 versions of a 49-51 Merc., some I like, some I don't, the simple fact is, as things move forward the variations will continue to grow.

5) Embrace the difference, it's not your money. I bet if you look closely you could find something you could at least admire about it, at the very least the dedication someone had putting it together.

6) Many things we love now were strange when they came out. Sometimes they were very strange!

7) Most of the things people do to their cars can be reversed thanks to the numerous parts that are available.

8) Many of these cars we all love might otherwise be in a cube or melted down, if someone wouldn't fish them out of the hell hole they were in.

9) I would imagine that many of the cars that are perfectly accepted by many of us would make the purest of car collectors wretch.

10) This Car IS the definition of the word:

Avant-garde (French pronunciation: [avɑ̃ɡaʁd]) means "advance guard" or "vanguard".[1] The adjective form is used in English, to refer to people or works that are experimental or innovative, particularly with respect to art, culture, and politics.
Avant-garde represents a pushing of the boundaries of what is accepted as the norm or the status quo, primarily in the cultural realm.

Anyway, my .02$ worth.

When I get my rendering finished and put up, it might be seen as a P.O.S.

Who knows, what does it matter?

Ty-when we finish up the rendering, the only person I care about loving the design is you. Everyone has their own taste and it's impossible to make them all happy.

If there's one thing I've learned since I started doing this, it's knowing that whenever you create something non-mainstream you open yourself up to brutal critiques, especially with the anonymity of internet forums. The day I give half a second's thought as to what some critics say is the day I drop my pencil and start a new career. It's a losing battle at that point.

My role in any project I design is innovating and solving problems that relate to the client's needs and budget. It looks to me like Eric Brockmeyer (I haven't seen the rendering yet) and Rodger have collaborated to do exactly that on this car. Is this car for everyone? No, it's for their client.

I'm not defending the design. I'm just emphasizing the designer, builder and owner relationship.

I think it's going to look good from what I see already. Things may change as the build progresses??
Not crazy about the tail lights, but you can't please all the people, all of the time.
