got most of my LD 3 link. have to wait till the rest of it shows up to make sure everything fits before i can go any farther.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4834753_n.jpg got the forward mount in http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7141875_n.jpg and mocked up http://l10.sphotos.l3.fbcdn.net/hpho..._4236938_n.jpg alot of wiring so nothing really to take pictures of. only have a few things left to wire but i can't do it until i'm farther along with my build. got the pass through connector done for the fuel tank and wheel speed sensors. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1019226_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4058721_n.jpg also got all the welds cleaned up and holes filled while i wait on the rest of the parts for the rear suspension to get here to finish up. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._2468634_n.jpg got the forward chassis harness pass through connector mounted and cleaned up. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...3_998035_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7463197_n.jpg also have the cruse control module mounted (and wired, not pictured) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1270183_n.jpg finished the brackets for the HVAC module and remounted the PCM and rewired to fit. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...9_525310_n.jpg |
just a small update. mainly welding seams, grinding and some metal finish work so no real pictures of that right now.
started working on converting the electronic HVAC door actuators over to cables. machined two aluminum bushings to attach to the plastic gear on the HVAC module. the mode door is a simple throw arm like the 60's controls were. the temperature door is not so simple because of the amount of room i have to work in. so i made it a push/pull cable. this is as far as i got for now because i have to machine a new more parts for the control head side of things and get a few motorcycle throttle cables ordered so i can adjust the cables. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...2_451806_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7943414_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4595599_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._5668190_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7901275_n.jpg also got the watts link today. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...7_816363_n.jpg |

Wheel speed sensors..... so your doing ABS???? Interesting!
I want to see some more dash mockup!!! Get to work. J/k looking good. |
^ I was wondering the same thing, or maybe traction control.
Nice work! I love seeing guys build stuff in their own garage without all the fancy machinery. It really gets me excited to work on mine once I get some money together. |
yes, it has ABS and traction control. for now i am using the 4th gen camaro EBCM/BPMV, if it doesn't work out i will graft the C5 system into it.
I'm a master certified gm tech so i know these systems pretty well. it makes working on these systems hassle free for the most part. |
This looks like a great build... even though it isnt a Mustang...:D Just curious, how are you going to match the profile of the dash to the windshield base? I'm using an 04 Cobra dash in my '66 Coupe, and although it's trimmed to fit, I still have to use some kind of filler to finish it out and was wondering if you're going to use 'glass or some kind of epoxy. I think I can get away with glass but Im looking at options. nice work on the metal replacement.
thanks! |
i'm going to glass the 1st gen a pillers to the 4th gen a pillers.
