We're using a LM series Center Force set up..Aluminum Flywheel..Aluminum pressure plate..dual disc clutch..not a lot of rotating mass..we're not going to be putting real sticky tires on it either..hopefully it will not break anything..I was more concerned with the clutch until we went dual disc..seems like these cars are bad to tear out clutches..

i didnt know centerforce did any daul disc stuff,i had a street twin dual disc from mcleod,it was nothing but a problem and trying to talk to any there was impossible,so went with a spec.good luck.bob do own alan johnson old 32 coupe with the sb2 head motor.

Spec is in Alabama and a good friend of ours works there. We were going to run their stuff but they don't make a flywheel. We decided on Centerforce because they were so energetic and enthusiastic about what we were doing. They haven't done any dual disc clutches for quite a while. Our direct drive dragster can scattershield was supposedly good for an eleven inch clutch and flywheel..it did, but not with a starter ring..we used this set up because we could run a driveshaft instead of a torque tube..We had to go down to 10.5" which everyone felt wasn't big enough to hold the power with a single disc..So Centerforce made the dual disc set-up for us. Did you try to get on the techline with Mcleod and talk to Red Farmer the owner? He is always very responsive to problems and available 2 times for a few hours each time daily. What problems did you have with the dual disc set-up. I would have preferred to have used the 11" set up with a single disc but it wouldn't fit. Simpler is better in most cases. We are going to put a picture of the new clutch on here. Doug Cooper from Long Island bought Alan's 32 at Barrett Jackson a few years ago. Since then he also bought my Battle Axe 69 Camaro, and the 33 blue Roadster Alan built that was hot rod of the year in 98 or so. Alan is also building him a 32 B400 sedan convt. He is also contemplating building a 69 Camaro the quality of my Cuda. Doug post on Pro-Touring under Coopercarz.

my mcleod kept eating the disc's,i went called them they told me it installed wrong so bought the stuff to rebuild it,did it again ,called same story bought a disc set, then sold it.it took me forever to get there tech guy.i ran a single disc before i went to the 399 ,it worked great, the guy i sold the daul disc has had no problems at all that was a year ago.dumb luck i guess.

alans 32 was the coolest 32 i ever seen.

I agree on his 32..I also like the 5 window all steel 32 he built for a customer..it looked just like his car but it was a 5 window and had a big block. He's building the same guy a 32 Vicky with a 514 Ford. Bill owned both cars for years..The vicky is going to be extremely bad as*

what tire are you going to run on the rear to hook that thing up at mid track to keep from turning the tires in high gear? :_paranoid

not sure yet..on street we have the 335x30x20's Michelin that come on the Porsche Carrera GT..for competition, not sure yet..got to find a tire wheel combo that will work best..BBS is in our backyard and most likely will make the wheels for us..car is going to have 50 +% of weight over rear wheels ..probably 3,000 lbs. total wt.

Are you going to run a dry nitrous system? Or some sort of direct port wet?

direct port..it's plumbed under the intake..Hogan welded in the bungs when he built the intake..the regular injector nozzles are under there too..out of site where they don't distract from the look,,we've got to have that clean uncluttered look
