Hi all. Its been a very busy few years. Finish a long distance move, renos on house, build a garage, build a pool and do all the labour trade work with friends.
I have had the Torino sitting on the build cart tempting me to work on it. I finally cleared the garage to put in a few months on it and make some real headway. Time for some ME time. I will update this over the next little bit to get the build progress up to date. Here is a teaser pic.... |
Looks good Gary!

Thanks Joe. I've been checking out your progress, your really getting into it. Nice work.

Gary that looks killer so far! Hopefully you'll get some more time to work on it...what color are you going with
|
YES! Really glad to see this coming back as I loved what you were doing with the car. Keep us updated, please!

Thanks guys. Its a great feeling to be back at it and not just dreaming about it. Even had doubts about actually ever finishing it. lol.
So the first step was to re envision the plan. I decided to put the suspension on it and take it off the chassis cart. Get it on the floor at ride height to have a look where it is and get back into the project. First thing was a revamp of the rear suspension. I changed it up to a 3 link with a panhard. ( I cant find my pics of that just yet) next was to begin the building of the floors. The first sections done were the area above the diff and the trans tunnel. I did get most of the actual floor pans built but haven't installed them yet. Then I got to work on the rear spoiler. In the original plan I was going to make a fiberglass trunk lid and spoiler. I decided to make it out of steel and use the stock lid since its in great shape. The top edge of the spoiler will have a Gurney flap. |

I built the hammer form to fab the fender lips just before I mothballed the project. I got to work on the fender lips. The rears would also need the inner tubs tied into the wheel opening …. so needless to say it took a while.
