me too....everytime I look at these and then go out to the shop to do the same, I end up with a hot mess. Fascinating how the pro's make it look so easy.

I have a dumb question because I can't tell from the pictures, are the fender wells, close out panels, etc. in the engine compartment aluminum or steel?

And I worry how to get the gaps straight. Thank God for craftsman like you guy's

Love it! The firewall is a good departure from the normal smooth firewall look. Good job guys.

Everything under the hood is aluminum on this build.

Thanks to everyone else for the responses. Here is a little further work on the dash.

Tim wanted to keep the original shape of the dash, but narrow up the gauge area. We also wanted to get rid of a lot of the clutter in the rest of the original dash.

To start, we narrowed up the original gauge cluster portion of the dash to figure out the size that we wanted for the opening.

Then cut everything apart and re-shapped the dash, smoothed the lower portion, and added in a 69 Camaro glove box door to flow better with the new dash shape.

All metal finished and smooth

We will come back and machine a new gauge bezel to fit the narrowed opening.
