Well,
Its not quite done at the painter, but done enough that Aaron let me have it back for a week to get some work on it. Still needs the front sheetmetal aligned and a few other odds and ends like the hood :D but they got the bedliner done today and it turned out awesome. So I have a lot left to do but hope that I can get a good chunk of if done this week. Here are some pics of the old girl back in my garage, did a little cleanining after they dropped it off. I cannot wait until it all comes together. Wheels should be here before GoodGuys. Sean |

It's coming together nicely! I dig the clean and subtle look.

I've been lurking on this build for a while. I've got a soft spot for these F100's and the same year range of Chevys too. The trucks are simple in design but that's what makes them look good.
Your truck is looking really nice and I can't wait to see what it does with the turbo LS. |
Thanks for the props fellas. Means a lot, as I look at all the builds on this site and wonder how this fits in here.
Plan for the truck was to be very subtle. I really dig the idea of old cars with ultra modern big power in them. If I had the cash I would do even newer motors. They impress me a lot. Making a little bit of progress this week. Managed to get the bed bolted down with all new stainless carriage bolts. I turned the heads so they have a nice brushed finish on them and replace the tailgate handle hardware as well. Brushed the main on off switch as well as got it installed and a few other odds and ends with the rear. I guess I didnt snap a pic of that though.....oops :emb: Finally got an air filter that will work with this crazy setup and threw on the Made in the USA turbo blanket. I like how the turbo setting is turning out. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psifmtt4qu.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psp6hyilgc.jpg Spent today working in the cab. Cleaned a lot, I did not repaint the interior, I like that it was so clean and original looking so I went to it with some purple power and some polishing compound. Then turned to the floors. There was some light surface rust so I hit it with Rust Mort two times and began to lay down 40 sq. Ft. of Hush mat. Also made a patch panel for the old shifter hole and got that all sealed up. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...ps39kmq4yw.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psff4nvv5t.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...pspjua0jx6.jpg So, I got the shifter out of its box and began looking at mocking it up, and my dad and I both realized that the beautiful black mustang buckets he brought all the way down from seattle might not be the best fit right now......So I we got to work tearing apart the pretty sad and beat up stock bench seat. A few repairs here and there, some new paint and burlap and put on my new seat cover. Considering the local upholstery guy could not get to it for a week and a half and wanted $325.00 just to fix the springs put down new foam and install the covers. I am pretty happy, it cost me an afternoon, $9.00 in burlap and a dinner for the wife and my dad. I am hoping that the lines in the covers from shipping go away in time, I will probably let it sit out in the sun for a few days and see what happens. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psuyuprpom.jpg I was having a little bit of a tough time with direction on Monday when I got the truck back and just started working back to front. It seems to be a pretty good way at this point of maintaining momentum and looking a few steps ahead. I still have two days of vacation, then the weekend. Probably be close to buttoned up in the interior tomorrow aside from door panels, then I will start on running the rest of the wiring up front and firewall work. Sean |
This truck is coming out gorgeous!! Love it! Great job.

Thanks guys,
Been working pretty steady the last few days of my time off. Yesterday was almost a total bust out for physical therapy, an interview (work related) and chasing down parts. Got the carpet all installed, cut out and fit. It fits very well, I am surprised, these repop carpet kits rarely fit well. Seat Cover fit very nice also. Shifter got all mounted up on the floor as well. Turned out well and I really like the shifter too. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psq6fwbp1o.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...pskiqsfykz.jpg Since I neglected to post this up earlier, here is how the inside of the bed turned out with the brushed stainless hardware and the master kill switch brushed as well. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...pssie69nlr.jpg Manged to finally pick up all the t bolt clamps I wanted to use for the radiator hoses and got those installed along with the powdercoated upper and lower radiator hoses. I love T bolt clamps a lot. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psi0z2tqgj.jpg So today was fun filled, pulled the grille and headlights back off and tucked the entire front harness up under the inner fenders. Spent most of the day soldering and heat shrinking, running wires all neat and clean and the best part of it, is that you cannot see any of it..... All I have to show is the turn signal buckets and lenses. But now they are all wired up and should work once I turn on the power. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...ps05vexbvw.jpg Got the fan mounted up to the radiator. Have a much smaller fan on the 5.3 in my volvo and it stays plenty cool. If I run into problems down the road, Ill get a shroud on it. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2ci0gpkj.jpg I have some wiring stuff that is frustrating me right now, need to get that sorted out hopefully tomorrow, then its back to work on Monday. Getting close to needing fluids in this girl :secret2: Sean |
