Here's the Mustang in all its glory. Completely original car with ~300k miles on it.

Was planning to put some new 17x9.5 Enkei's on it this week but found they are 16lbs and CSMC rules mandate 18+lbs wheels. So this week some partially warn 255 RE71R's are going on the stock wheels so I can get a little seat time on the track after over a year without. Looks like I may be going with some Forgestars in the future since they are the only wheel I can find close to 18lbs thats inexpensive

The more the better here in Texas. Rob and I were talking about one weekend at TWS and a second at COTA. TWS is an old but fun (and cheap) track that will be supposedly closing its doors sometime soon. If I can finish up the Camaro I can have the Mustang as a backup for other drivers....I can pretend to be a white trash version of Weld...

V8, rear wheel drive...cheap, perfect! Lighten it up, lower it down and go make laps, sounds fun to me.

Nah. I have too much blood, sweat and tears invested in my junk to abandon it now.

Next weekend I have a few more things on my punch list to add to the car in search of some more grip. Then hopefully off to Buttonwillow on the 24/25th to run her again.

Dug into the underside of the car last weekend. http://<a href="http://s291.photobuc...psmbpurcat.jpg[/IMG]

Oh boy she is in fine shape check out that subframe.

The circa 2000 torque arm is pretty "vintage"

I have a front subframe that looks very much like yours, luckily the Mike Maier subframe connectors "cap" the imperfections and wrap the sides. Done.

I had heard something about Sonoma and T-Hill, I'm hoping to make one of the events to offer my support and general Tom foolery...

You mentioned something about finding more grip, did you find it?

I hope you make it down for one of the weekends.

I am hoping this swap adds some grip.

Your tomfoolery would be appreciated by a larger audience and at a better venue at Sonoma. Hopefully you can make it.

Nice shop Rob! I had always ASSumed you had a couple shipping containers with a tarp between them for wrenching...which really isn't a bad way to go. MM for the win!

Happy Father's Day Dave!

Your first ASSumption is actually correct. I have done all the previous work in the comfort of my driveway.

For this project I hired some expert help who has a shop.
