That's a nice place.

Can you tell us a little bit on the tube chassis car you have there?

I'm sorry but I can't tell you much about it. It's going to be a Chevy C-10 Pickup and should debut in a couple of years! That's about all the info I'm able to tell.

mrgm 08-28-2011 08:59 PM

ohh man...

Great looking shop James. Very neat and orderly.
But then again, I wouldn't expect anything else by looking at your car posts. Looks great!

waynieZ 09-19-2011 06:46 PM

Sweet, even the shop's done up nice!

pacificustoms 09-26-2011 06:02 PM

Nice place! What's that '32 frame going under and what wheels are those that are on it?

Northeast Rod Run 09-27-2011 09:16 AM

Will keep you on the radar for a future trip, thanks.

Going to interesting shops gives some of the participants an inside view of cool projects that they normally wouldn't get to see. It also gets the shops some more visibility, from true car enthusiests, that they normally wouldn't get and hopefully they can get a customer or two out of the whole thing

Here's some recent pics with the new lift installed. I had been researching these lifts for a few years and almost pulled the trigger a couple of times. I have recently come into a situation where I need to store 4 vehicles so this unit ended up being the ideal solution. This is model HD9-SW 9000 lb capacity, 16 ft wide. The outer runways are fixed, but the inside pair are adjustable to the width of the cars being stored. 110V power supply and pneumatic release locks. Quality seems to be pretty good and it went together in about 6 hours. Here's a few pics.

This thread was started in 2007..... not all that long ago IMHO... so I started looking back at page 1 ----- just scrolling down... and what occurred to me was HOW MANY PEOPLE DON'T POST ANY MORE. Don't ya ever wonder what happened to them?

I do.

They got better offers elsewhere...

We should start paying members.

A buck a post -- RETROACTIVE. I like the way you think!

Seems pretty apparent, you scared them all off, Weld.

PROBABLY!

Isn't it interesting though Todd? You've been on here a long time too... and I was looking back and recognizing a lot of names -- and they just seem to fade away -- while some of us have made lasting friendships. I guess maybe some of them just don't make the connections. Sad.

Vegas69 04-28-2014 08:43 PM

Life gets in the way and interests change.

I absolutely agree that the best thing that came out of my build is the friends I made.

wiedemab 04-29-2014 04:52 AM

Here are a few of my shop from a couple of months ago (it was pretty much finished at that point). It was still a little cluttered, but I'm working on getting everything organized. I even have a label maker to put to good use.

First project I pulled into the shop (I'll start a build thread at some point).

I continue to add tools as money allows (I have a tool problem). I just like to be able to do things myself.

GregWeld 04-29-2014 07:19 AM

Holy crap Brandon! Whew knew!

Hey... Don't use that "I have a tool problem" when you're at the bar or at a party... It's meaning is only understood around car guys. LOL

It's funny because people always ask about what a "car" or a part costs.... but they never look around at the infrastructure it takes to build them, and ask what that costs!

fleet 04-29-2014 08:30 AM

Very nice, that's a serious looking shop Brandon.

I like what you did to the ceiling too. A real clean look.

Me either - I had no idea BendPac made one. Of course, I'll never get one, cuz I'd have to build a whole new garage.

I do.

They got married and bought a corvette. LOL

Maybe they'll come back some day.

Thanks Greg - I'm really happy with how it's come together - - - It won't fit a Toter-Home or anything, but it's my little paradise. ;) For some reason I always feel better after buying a tool that I'll use over and over again, than after buying a part. Good point on the "phrasing". I'm already misunderstood by my non-car guy friends, so I don't need to add any fuel to that fire.

Here's my shop. I started on it last March and for the most part, it's done. I guess a taking a year to go from grass to what you see isn't too bad.

To accomplish all of that in just over a year...is amazing!

Nice work, great looking shop.

Thanks Lance! I would have had it done a lot sooner but I had to wait about 2 months for the concrete guy and then another agonizing 2 months waiting on the insulation guy! Regardless, I'm very happy it's done and usable now.

Just saw this section! LoL! Don't know why I've never noticed it before.
Now lets see if I can post a pic from my iPhone.....

SWINE!!! Nope, not gonna work. Anyone know how to resize a pic on an iPhone?

Awesome move. Still kicking and screaming there? :D

What size is the new one?

Che70velle 08-15-2014 02:37 PM

Now that's better! It will be full of STUFF, and crowded before you know it.

Not too much kicking and screaming going on. Especially now that I can get car parts much easier than in Hawaii. The motocross tracks are pretty good out here too.
The shop is 30'x40' and is air conditioned, heated, and has a bathroom. No need to go in the house anymore :)

I've added some storage and a couple of work benches too. I plan on putting up dry wall and adding some sort of flooring at some point, but right now it's more than perfect for what I need. Although I think the ceiling is a little low for a lift.

Boss 5.0 08-19-2014 01:30 PM

My set up in the back yard. 36x28, would love it to be bigger like all car guys, but it works for me. I also have an attached 36x28, so the back yard shop is full on hobby shop.

woody80z28 10-19-2014 02:15 PM

The house I bought had a 24x24 that seemed like enough at first, but it's really not enough room for a big project. haha
