Thanks guys!
Got the trunk finished up today. A few little dings to take care of, self etch primer, and a new coat of factory speckle trunk coating. I will let that dry over night and then matt clear coat tomorrow. Once this is done, I can get serious on the interior. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...r/100_4553.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...r/100_4554.jpg |
Now this is how a trunk is suppose to look.

Well...not too happy with the clear they send with this kit.....its a gloss clear. I was hoping for a semi of matt clear. I amy have to shoot it again.
|
Which paint kit did you use? I've got the Eastwood kit. I never looked at what clear they sent.

This weekend was interior clean up time. I got my original rear seats cleaned up with an upholstery cleaning machine. I didn't think that much crap could come out of white seats. They didn't look that dirty to start with but boy was I surprised. Basically chocolate milk was the result.

Good to see the updates. The trunk came out great. I love the hounds tooth interior colors.

All 4 wheels on the car tonight after more cleaning. A few more little trim bits, a set of Marquez LED driving/turn signals, and some Anvil carbon fiber bits in a satin finish to finish it all off. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...100_4642-1.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...100_4643-1.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...100_4644-1.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...r/100_4650.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...100_4645-2.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...100_4646-1.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...100_4647-1.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...r/100_4649.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...100_4652-1.jpg |

I really appreciate the feedback from members with such high caliber cars. Your opinions mean a lot.
It was pretty quick turn around. Car went in to the bodyshop the first week in September and I got it back to my garage for assembly in January. I probably could have got it done in a few weeks if I had all the NOS parts but took my time at it and did a few nights a week. Best of all....my wife is still in my corner on the project. |
May I make a suggestion? Tuck the bumpers.
Anyway, I LOVE IT! Is the interior completely installed? I like a lot the color, and the final result is pretty cool. |
Beautiful car! That has always been my favorite color combo on a '69.
|
It looks awesome. You must be nipping at the bit to drive it, I know I would be.

Finally got the original door panels back so I could finish the interior. I also had to do some Dremel mods to the carbon fibre close out panel to get it fitting properly. The front end sheet metal fits a lot differently now than it did before ( actually square now).
