One lap 2010 .... The Dish will be riding ShotGun in the ISK / CAC Camaro for sure. It's going to be the offical debut for the car with the drivers name "Dish Wallace" on the roof line. :hail:

Car looks great as usual for an IronWork creation. Keep up the great work Rodger and all the guys back at the shop.

There was plenty of sand flying in the sandbox at this event.

Big Head Ed was quoted at the awards ceremony " Win if you can, loose if you must, but always rig the race. Being the promoter and a racer has it's advantages." :unibrow:

Hey Rodger .... Thanks for the background shot.

BRIAN 10-02-2009 12:57 PM

Is it the color of the lug nuts or the shading but those wheels look like knock offs. NICE!!

ironworks 10-02-2009 02:25 PM

They kinda do Huh? In the pics I got from Budnik the Center caps really made the wheel. So once they get their name etched in the center cap after powder coating it will really change the look.

Thanks

How would you guys describe the shade difference between this "import" orange and the "home depot" orange on Dale Jr's '72??

Just curious on your thoughts....

....awesome build by the way!!! Any updates?

Jr 06-22-2010 04:51 PM

Rodger,

Have you made any progress on this build?

ironworks 06-22-2010 05:04 PM

We are going to primer hopefully this week. We have a powder coated subframe and have the Ls7 back in the frame and are trying to make the Super Chevy shoot out the end of August.

yamadog 06-23-2010 08:51 AM

After looking at all 30 pages for insparation on my 67, I'm curious how you monted the seats. All other kirkey seats I've seen have been mounted in some way to the rollcage. Yours look to be bolted to the floor somehow? Any pics I could see of that? Thanks, Jason

ironworks 06-23-2010 09:08 AM

I will take some pics for you. We made the driver side adjustable and fixed the passenger side seat. Because the drivers seat needs to adjust from GIANT to midget, so all the guys who work in my shop can drive the car. We welded some structure to the floor and made it where if you unbolt some structure and rebolt it together it will adjust, But it is not just sliders in your typical seats.

Jr 06-23-2010 10:31 AM

Rodger,

I remember you saying that you are running 14" brakes. Is that 14" all the way around with 6 piston in the front and 4 piston in the rear?

Thanks so much...... I know you guys are super busy. I would love to see those pics when you have time. Jason

Finally got around to actually remembering to take a picture.

Plus here are some update pics. The car is getting blasted in the morning and Epoxy primered tomorrow afternoon. They will be painting the bottom a light Nascar Gray color. We have the front clip assembled and ready to bolt on and we are working on getting the rear axle wrapped up.

Man Rodger, you guys some killer work :hail:

Think I'm gonna have to take a trip to Cali to see your place ;)

ironworks 06-29-2010 04:14 PM

Thanks, Chris. In reality this is just a race car and it has been scabbed together to make it just that. I don't want it too nice.

Anytime your out here just stop buy, I give tours at all hours of the day. The camaro you just bought is pretty nice. It was not done when it left, but it has some pretty nice work on it. I love the cage in that car.

Thanks again

ironworks 07-01-2010 07:26 AM

ironworks 07-17-2010 01:26 PM

Times are busy, Lots going on around here.

Well we got the car back from the blaster and painter. I had the entire body epoxy primered gray for now. I had the bottom and the firewall painted Dove gray. I have always liked the Nascar look. The car is not detailed to the moon, just business. I don't want it to be too nice, we want to drive it without reservation. We used the super lightweight Dynamat Insulation and set up some aluminum floor pans to help with the heat and give it a cool look. We have started on the Engine wiring harness and milspec connectors. At this point it looks like we will put a cheap paint job on the car to paint the door jambs and roof, and will vinyl wrap the exterior. We found out to run in the suspension shoot out next month they want roll up windows and some kind of interior. We have quite a bit more to go but we are getting there.

Well on to the pics.

Nicely done as always. That shifter will be like holding a hot skillet with no pot holder. I just drove the Bull Run Racer yesterday with that shifter.

I guess when you move to Bako we know which car you will take to Sonic for a drink run.
