Frame looks awesome! I heard about those guys a couple years back but have never made it over that way. Talented for sure. |
I remember asking you about this on the truck forum & you told me you had something special in store for the chassis, but damn. All I can say is  I know that chassis was like :G-Dub: Lol. HRE sure can make a bad ass wheel too.

Well guys, dropped the chassis off at the shop today. Little did I know, my builder had already began cutting the trunk last Thursday and Friday since he knew I was going to go get it and bring it home. He only cut the rear wheel well's and some of the trunk until he got the chassis. He didn't want to cut too much, but was getting ahead.

So Marcus, does your builder have a timeframe for completion? Do you have to repaint the car?
|
Congratulations Marcus that chassis looks almost as sweet as my RS :D
That should be a butter smooth ride with the IRS out back. What are your plans for finish? Powdercoat? What color? |

The body is on the chassis, but my builder sent me three, hazy cell phone pics that I dare not post. :computer: I told him to email them to me, otherwise I won't be able to go by the shop until Thursday. I'm at the fire station all day tomorrow.

The body is bolted to the chassis. Measurements are being taken for the trunk fabbing to begin next. Let the cutting and welding of metal begin!! :excited: :excited:

We are still playing with a few inches here and there. http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5d757789.jpg http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2e421705.jpg |

No big update guys. Just setting the ride height and test fitting the engine and tranny. Also adjusting the rear track width.
Test fitting the engine... http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...ps403bd9d5.jpg http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4f2540be.jpg This will be the ride height on the rear... http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0cd757a2.jpg http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3b38375d.jpg Hear is where we adjusted the rear track width outward by 1". At first the rear wheels were too far inward. My chassis builder made it where the the rear track width was adjustable just in case I ever wanted wider or narrower tires. If you look closely you can see where the rear upper control arm mounts, you will see four, little spacers. They are just for mock up only. We will machine a 1" plate to go in there. My chassis builder made the rear lower control arms adjustable also. I'll include some old pics from back in the thread so y'all can see what I'm talking about. Before the 1" spacers... http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...psbc9bbfef.jpg After the 1" spacers... http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...psc3e8233e.jpg This is where the rear lower control arms adjusts outward. Each mounting hole is 1" outward. Hence, the 1" spacer plate in the upper control arm. Therefore, every hole you move outward on the lower control arm, you need to add a 1" plate to the upper control arm. http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...psae253ace.jpg http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...ps471f4f78.jpg |
