Small update... As you can see not a whole lot completed on the car. Mike Kelly and I have been working our tales off just getting the aftermarket parts fitted and its been a slow process to say the leasts . So this leads me to a slight redirection on the project. Time to work on the car has become a major issue , 90 to 100 hour work weeks and only working on the car on Sundays isn't cutting it any more. Also tring to learn tig welding has slowed everything to a stand still. I look at the work ahead of me and I have to figure out how to get it moving a little faster. So I e-mailed Troy at BBT fabrications to see if he would be interested in doing the final gapping and a few other things I want to get done. This will allow me to finish getting the car fitted and welded withot worring about what I'm going to destroy doing the final detail work. I went through 3 sets of outter wheel houses just to weld two straight lines ! I can't do this when I have the quarter panels welded up! I'll go broke buying new quarters!!! I'm not happy about this but I fell this is my best option to keep everthing moving forword..

Tough to let it go obviously Mario, but seems to be a win/win situation.

Looking forward to seeing some more of Troy's handiwork.

awr68 05-13-2011 09:17 AM

Do what you have to do....you can only do so much yourself with work weeks like that!

syborg tt 05-13-2011 09:28 AM

Brother I feel your making the right decision.

Do what you do best and let the people that do the specialty stuff do what they do. In the end it's a project and no matter who does the work it still feels good when you look at the end product.

BTW - You Drive I buy lunch when we hit Troys.

waynieZ 05-13-2011 11:31 AM

Mario Smart man to realizes there's only so much time in a day and you can't stretch it. No matter how hard you try. It will be a much more enjoyable build without the stress trying to fit it in your busy schedule. We will still need updates, your not getting off that easy!

DOOM 05-13-2011 05:07 PM

Well said Wayne!!Troy just replied to my e-mail I will be talking to him real soon... I fell more comfortable with this the more I think about it. Marty get ready for the road trip!!

Spiffav8 05-13-2011 05:20 PM

Mario...You're making progress and that's the important thing. I do think it wise to farm out a bit of the work though. Keep at it. It'll pay off.

Oh......and I want a ride as soon as it's done! :D

waynieZ 05-20-2011 02:03 PM

Good to see some updates Mario. There's only so much you can do. Keep us posted and good luck!

DOOM 06-06-2011 04:55 PM

Talked to Troy at BBT FABRICATIONS today and the car will be go out to him in late July:willy: This gives me time to button up what I need to do and its alot. Troy will be finishing all the detail work on the car such as gapping, raising the trans tunnel, firewall, and a few other things... He also wants the car rolling so all the suspension has to go under it:faint: ITS GO TIME!!!

waynieZ 06-06-2011 08:12 PM

Good to hear now you can make a plan. Sweet!

There ya go Mario!

Remember - just break it down into one job at a time - don't try to wrap your head around "all that needs to be done" -- just pick up "something" and put it together.

Little update... When the car goes to BBT it has to be a roller so my nephew started to put the suspension together this weekend. I could'nt resist putting the rotors and calipers on to see how they look ! These things are HUGE!!:wow: All the panels are fitted and ready to weld, I'll start this week. It leaves at the end of July for the detail work..

I'm certain that's the ONLY reason.... right Mario? :unibrow:

Scott I here ya!! My problem isn't really a problem,my shop has been crazy!! I always put my buisness first.... I'm a hands on owner as you know,100 plus hours a week doesn't leave me with a whole lot of ''me time''.. This is one of the reasons why I decided to have Troy help me with some of the work load .... It'll keep moving things forward..:lateral:

 Rick ..... Progress is painfully slow. Mike Kelly and I are slowly getting things done though.. The last quater panel gets glued and resistence welded tomorrow and that will complete the quarter install. It seems like it took forever to get these quarter panels on,we must of had them on and off the car at least 30 times each side! Things will go a little faster now that this is done, I hope.. :D The car was to be at BBT at the end of July but that obviously didn't happen. Plus a part issue also help delay that. You have no idea how much Im looking forward to getting it to Troy. The more I think about it the more I think its the right decision.I'm still at a 100 hour work week, shop has been crazy busy and I couldn't be happier!! As I said before my shop comes first, toys last. You need to make the money to pay for the toys. :D I'll have some update pictures very soon....:lateral:

Rick D 08-06-2011 07:13 AM

Mario, what qtr's did you end up using?? Also do you have any pictures of the trunk floor set up from MCC that you had made, top and bottom?? :unibrow:

Rybar 08-06-2011 11:06 AM
