Mario -- I've been pushing around an LS6 on a dolly for like 5 years now and just can't seem to find a home in one of my cars for it....

I've got so many years of inventory of old skool parts that I just keep doing more of them. Like Todd.... I guess we're dinosaurs. But HAPPY dinosaurs!

Nah..... I'm just spoiled and whine 'til I get what I want....LOL

The real truth is --- she doesn't ask -- I don't ask her -- we both shop 'til
we drop... no harm no foul. :D

I was at SAR Friday... mostly to add $$ to my "account"... But also to work out a couple more details.

They raised the front cross member up into the chassis an inch and a half... that drops the nose down some more. One of the things I DID NOT like when I bought the car was the stance. Hiboys are hi to begin with and mine was high and level from the rear to the front... YUCK!

The discussion on Friday was about tire sizes. I want some fairly aggressive tire on the rear and some fairly small tires up front... this is standard fair on a car like this - "bigs and littles". After SAR I went to a buddies house to show another friend his '32 roadster - which is a 1994 "Great Eight" car.... and took some pics of his rear tires. What do you guys think?

That's certainly what it looked like to me!

He has all his potted (not pot) plants under there -- a good warm space and out of the way. He's a waxer not a greaser - so if he's not driving then there's little waxing. In the winter 'round here... there's not much roadster weather.

Good eye by the way!

Back in da day --- '94 --- it was super hi-tech! All torsion bar suspension front and rear -- and a Caddy Northstar mounted north and south! This little rocket is putting out about 450 hp and that caddy NS motor is super fast revving! You jump on it - and you'd best be ready!

You should see the looks on peoples faces when they see it at a show - with the open hood sides and the plug wires dissapearing into the valve covers -- they first think it's a hemi -- then they start scratching their heads and looking around... it's really too funny. Most don't want to ask... they spend a while scratching..

When it was built - it had super ugly Antera 3 spokes on it... Now it has some Billet Specialties and they've done a BUNCH to make the car run and drive right!

Flash68 01-10-2011 11:02 PM

Greg, what size are those tires?

Tones - it's a "pit" and he stores his planted pots down there in the winter. The "fence" is some movable safety grating painted yellow.

awr68 01-11-2011 08:26 AM

So I take it Stan's headers aren't off the shelf units? lol

I do like how his car sits...will yours be close to that?

Lookie there, page 32

No. His body is channeled 2" over the frame.

Cool...That view sure looks funny to look down there and see vegetation!

GregWeld 02-01-2011 03:28 PM

Stopped by SAR on my way home from my BJ/GRNS... not much to update because they were down at the GRNS with several cars.

Motor is set in the chassis... and they've cleaned up the wiring under the dash.
