I personally like my C2 'vettes with the front bumper in place, but either rendering looks great! I'm really looking forward to seeing that thread emerge.

Would love to see some pic's!!

Well the reason the wheels are different is because they are steel with hubcaps. Its totally stock but restored to perfection. Riverside red with red interior. I would love to build it like that rendering but not this car :D

syborg tt 03-01-2012 12:22 PM

Problem Solved - you build this one and I'll build the red one and it won't look like we built the same car.

Plus mine will have a bike rack on it like the render from Carter

Hey that's my exhaust up against the wall!

Cris@JCG 08-22-2012 08:07 AM

Rick- How about a pic of the car sitting on the shop floor... or a pic of the wiring harness all cleaned up & installed on the engine... You did a great job on the LS conversion.. Goal is to have your car fired up next week!

Cris@JCG 09-03-2012 07:39 AM

This Saturday I held a Labor Day weekend Auto-X.. I had not other car to drive but this little Mustang... Matt A is right ! Always have a Mustang on stand-by when your Camaro is down.. I had a blast with this car.. The new motor puts out plenty of power & the new suspension parts are working.. The only thing that was holding us back was tires... This week we will get new tires on the car & head out to the So-Cal Challenge... Lately we have been playing around with late model Camaros & Mustangs.. Must say that we are having fun with those cars...

Got a Gen 5 Camaro sitting in my WHSE... This thing is pretty wicked... My buddy Ray from Full Throttle Customs is working on this car here @ the shop.. Looks like my WHSE will have a chassis dyno by next month.. Ray will be tuning cars here @ the shop...

I had a chance to check this car out in person due to the fact cortex and Kertz are only 15 min from me, and it is unreal! I look forward to seeing some completion to it!

That is the goal! I really did not want to flare the car because I thought it looks good in it orginal form... but the owner wanted more tires.. so I finally broke down & decided to do it .. but I barely wanted it to be noticable..

How will you attach the metal to the bumper cover?

tones2SS 09-16-2012 09:14 AM

That is awesome. I love the newer Mustangs. I think the flares will make it look even more beastly and with the possibility of adding a wider tire!

Yeah, what he asked !

Also, did you simply extend the existing flare or did you butt weld a new flare assembly in there ? I don't see where any paint was sanded off to attach the flare using a rolled edge as is often done. If so, good job getting in there and grinding down the weld bead on the inside corner.

Cris@JCG 09-17-2012 03:22 PM

Their is a metal to plastic adhesive what will be using.. then fiberglass it.. If that does not work bubble gum!

We built a flare from scatch, cut out the factory opening, & welded the new pcs... Has been great welding on new factory sheetmetal.. Like paper! :D

Looks good! I doubt most people will notice.

I'm glad you made a post so I didn't have to go look for this thread. Just wanted to say thanks again to you and Karl for letting me throw those Koni shocks on my Mustang for the So Cal Challenge. That was beyond nice! I owe you guys a round of beers at RTTC and SEMA.

Matt

I will have to agree with Matt A on having a Mustang as a back up car! I have really enjoyed working on this one... We will be running it a RTTC next weekend...
