Not only is this thread "car awesome", but it's getting pretty funny as well.

c10addict 01-05-2012 05:21 PM

Sema sounds good! Now Rodger... The car has to be painted!! :D This car will be old news by then but its a deal! I figured a pic on wooden blocks doesn't do our chassis any justice so here it is on the ground.. Not the wheels that will stay on the car but rockin a 345/30/20 in the rear... I will start a build thread eventually ...

No problem, it's supposed to be in a paint manufacturers booth at SEMA, not the WD-40 booth.

Oh and by the way Greg does not like pictures taken and posted in his thread that do not reflect his point of view. You need to sit down when you take pictures.

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...rameheight.jpg

Here is what I'm shooting for for ride height on Greg's car. I have a few more mods to get sorted out and we will be cutting chassis prototype #2. Yeah we build our own frames in house. We don't let others do our dirty work. :D

c10addict 01-05-2012 05:57 PM

Sorry Greg... Here you go... Not a bad ride height for not cutting the floors out of the car..
Rodger your planning on coming to Columbus right? Why wait till SEMA? All jokes aside.. Greg your car looks like its going to be bad ass! This car is going in a slightly different direction but I can guarantee it will get driven and driven hard!

Sorry guys I couldn't resist. It's not like I'm tall at 5-10.56387"

fleet 01-07-2012 09:56 AM

A lot of issues come between the short and the tall; and people that hold to a same shirt dogma...

I don't know what keeps me coming back to this thread more, the anticipation of seeing more progress pics or to see what comments are being made. Can't wait to see more pics as the build keeps going.

Is that the firing order of a SBC?

FETorino 01-07-2012 11:59 AM

Just post your heights in cm and weights in kg and you'll feel taller and thinner and we can get some progress pics back in this thread.

I can't wait to see the actual stance on the Intros........

syborg tt 01-09-2012 08:44 AM

However he would need a Steppie Stool to get in this one.

This Picture is from Rogers & Kenny's Perspective

I took this picture from ground level - Ya know I'm not much taller then Greg so I think this is one we can both appreciate

http://garagescene.net/gallery3/var/...0Air%20_3_.jpg

and yep it's an original Drag Car

Headlight install

I have had quite a few emails about what it takes to get these lights installed. The shape of the 5.75" lights is much different then the 7" lights. We had to do quite a bit more then you would have to with a 7".

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...Jan2012037.jpg

We had to relocate the springs and cut out the base to clear the back of the light.

Installed
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...Jan2012034.jpg
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...Jan2012035.jpg

I'm hoping to light them up today.

Definitely like the day time smoked appearance and the night time performance factor. I think they'd look great in PayBack.

That is so cool Roge, really great work. Gotta be making Weldster lean forward to get a closer look at his monitor...:D

I was here for that. I knew there had to be more than that for this banter to continue. Kenny confirmed. Its almost like you were callin them out as not "acceptable".
95% of the cars that roll out of my shop have "Intros" (ie Intro, ID Luxury & IForged). Never had a single complaint, problem or issue. Just sayin.....

I like the direction this build is heading...... makes me wish I kept that (according to Weld) ugly 62 Biscayne I had.

I just had to say, this totally beats out your "I gotta be honest with you, I voted for the Vette" moment from about a year or so ago.

I haven't laughed that hard since that Vette post, until now. I guess you have to know all the players (including yourself) to really appreciate it and get it--by far it is a piece of artwork and deserves some sort of prize---you are gifted brother----LOL man---

GW--car looks amazing--I am in love with the colors---and the entire theme. How much fun it must be to be doing this with RAJAH. Looking forward to seeing you boys for RTTC.

Nothing wrong with Intros.... "if that's what you're into" (always loved that statement). It was just the one post that I was referring to and then it got to be a joke.

Steve -- did you purposely date the ugly chick in high school? If you did - and got married - please accept my apologies... for my earlier statements.:D

GregWeld 01-09-2012 04:30 PM

Just so it doesn't go unsaid --- THAT'S BADASS!

Do you think that there is enough room for the 7'' lights without totally eliminating the bezel piece between the headlights?

I was trying to be quiet about my dissatisfaction with Intro wheels, So your the one who tells me to be politically correct and then just throws the unpinned hand grenade right out there, Thanks Buddy.

By the way your wheels are on Franks truck while we sent the wheels he had out for chrome. Just remember that when you go to sell them. Even on that truck their still, UGLY.

The 7 inch lights are totally different on the rear.

The back of the 5.75" lights, my guess is the 7" lights will be much easier to install. The tapered outside will be much easier to clearance instead of the whole side of the light.
