Hey in Mark's book he says he sets everything aside and gets manic about his projects.

If they could pull off that wiring in the few days between posts 14 weeks seems like too much time.

you'd get more done if you'd get off the computer and quit growing your group of Facebook friends.

96z28ss 08-02-2012 08:36 PM

It's 89 days till SEMA, minus travel time from Michigan to Vegas.
It's getting close.

Z10ROD 08-03-2012 11:43 AM

Does this car have a name besides 67 for OUSCI ?

Vegas69 08-03-2012 02:38 PM

Man, I'd be nervous about dialing it in perfect enough to win Optima with this short time frame.

Flash68 08-03-2012 02:40 PM

Yeah but the dude just jumped in a ZL1 and beat a PRO driver by 2 seconds without sweating... I think he can handle this.

Please don't let a new Vette win again Mark. :unibrow: :lateral:

Vegas69 08-03-2012 02:43 PM

I'm rooting for him and I'm sure most of the notes transfer from Red Devil, but it's a different car.

He'll figure it out. :unibrow:

I would think this build is a cakewalk compared to testing brake systems out on a track that uh.. don't brake.

Todd brings up a good point about track time and sorting. I spoke with Mark about this, and that's why he's using a combo that he's familiar with for this car. He can get the final dialing in done pretty fast, he's real good at that.

I saw him go into turn 1 on his first lap at Optima two years ago, and the ABS faulted.......... :omg: That would completely un-nerve most anybody.

I wonder if it gets easier each time it happens?

Probably helps that he has so much track experience. But it also helps that he's smart enough to set the normal brake bias up correctly so if the ABS faults you have a chance to catch it. :wow:

Actually I was thinking more of the times he posted about in a prior build when it happened (IIRC) while driving GM test vehicles.

There are unconfirmed reports that Mark has already won some races south of the border under the alias of 'Topo Gigio'.

Rendering by Murray Pfaff

http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q..._silver_05.jpg

I saw this car two years ago and I chose the colors off this show car,

http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...rge20Image.jpg
It well be Porsche Silver with an orange strip soon

Stielow :unibrow:

bdahlg68 08-03-2012 06:02 PM

Sweet colors... I'm a ways from paint but was considering Porsche Peridot Metallic. Porsche Silver is a bit more subtle!

Stielow 08-03-2012 06:12 PM

http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...IMG9588571.jpg

It will be in color this weekend..... I'm not sand bagging Paul and Joe are holding me up. LOL

They are great guys and have to make it perfect... But I'm running out of time.

It will be the best paint job you have ever seen.

Stielow

Rick D 08-03-2012 06:16 PM

Sweet we have color!!! or at least we know what color it will be :woot: Nice chose on the color combo Mark.

Stielow :unibrow:

Mark,

Baddest

'67

ever!

Great color choices and functional styling touches, plus an outstanding rendering by Murray.

I think I hear the prices of the '67's going up.

57hemicuda 08-03-2012 06:16 PM

As usual, understated fury. Love watching the progress.

Roberts68 08-03-2012 06:19 PM

It's a great name and a great paint scheme Mark. The girl at my side who bought me your book says so... I agree.

Best of Luck, not that you need it from me... but like alot of other Camaro fans I wish you all the best. There is a moment of silence in my house every time a certain Optima commercial comes on TV.

WSSix 08-03-2012 06:23 PM

Very nice! I like the offset stripe. Color choices are spot on. Good luck getting ti finished Mark.

Sieg 08-03-2012 06:52 PM

Mayhem is coming
http://www.careercapitalist.com/.a/6...24ba970d-800wi

Good choices Mark.

Sonar Chief 08-03-2012 06:54 PM

Very nice colors

No vent windows in the rendering? Reality or illusion?

Good luck with the thrash!

qship510 08-03-2012 08:50 PM

OK, I'll say it.....

Ever so respectfully Mr. Stigelow.......

Please no stripe......

Flash68 08-03-2012 09:30 PM

Pure excellence as expected.

Are you by chance going to make a 2nd spoiler like that? :unibrow:

89 RS 08-03-2012 10:23 PM

I didn't know what to expect...and now...just awesome.

Now that we have color and know what it looks like, we can all get some sleep. :lolhit: :lolhit: But, if I must say so myself, it is a work of art...a beautiful rendition of a Chevy Classic. :wow: :wow: And yes Mark, it has to be perfect because after "MAYHEM" kicks everybody's a$$ at OUSCI it will be in all of the magazines and all over the net. So, when it displays as the leader of the pack it has to look damn good....right?

'John Ringer' hated stripes at first too...

but he came around to Mr. Stielow's way of thinking.

Stielow :unibrow:

I was under the impression that it's not easy to get the paint codes on cars like this. Using a little insider pull or what? Great combo and I am digging the rendering big time!
