Will the Nova make any West Coast appearances during the car show circuit? I would love to see this in person.

It will probably tour all over but not sure about west coast events.

There are a few new pics up of the car on radrides website. Check em out.

RECOVERY ROOM 03-16-2008 08:41 PM

Saw it this weekend, looking good guys,I'm getting excited to start working on it.

amaronut 03-30-2008 06:35 AM

heard what the body/stripe/design colors are, should be striking. I seen (book at B&N) an old Avanti with the same hood design that goes into the dash. One thing about this hobby, there are no new ideas, everything has been done at some point, but that doesn't matter, just do what feels right.

Update 4-1-8

OK..so I havent posted an update for a little while so here goes.

The nova has completed the body work. It was shot with primer last week and currently is in sealer. The sealer is a green color and "green is good", because the next step is paint! I have one picture of the car in primer but its really not worth putting up b/c its just the front fender. Things are going to go fast from this point... so keep watchin!

Okay....heres a quick update.

In sealer right now. Wet sanding has begun on the sealer and should be ready to paint by the first week in may.

Teaser pic..bumper is in copper..not the final finish. Not much longer!

Heres a quick shot of the subframe. Gives you a little idea of color. Also they cleaned up all of the welds on the DSE piece and smoothed it out in places. It looked good as is but they made it even nicer. Also we needed to get different springs because the originals were for a small block. The new ones are 2 inches longer and have a higher spring rate.

The car is still being sanded in sealer. Currently the firewall, interior and roll cage are painted. They also have sprayed the underside of the car with the speedliner for protection from debris. Adam and Jared told me that the rest would be painted this week, probably on weds or thurs.

..... it's looking good!

I knew that day was coming...I'm surprised he let this much leak out.
Most awesome work...can't wait to see it completed...may I assume it'll be @ SEMA this year?;)

notorious1970 05-06-2008 09:17 PM

Not too much. The qa1's are fully adjustable. So theres a ring on the top that rotates to sit the car lower or higher. Remember that the pics you guys have seen of it on the wheels are of it sitting slightly lower then real ride height. Its still going to be low but not ridiculously low. Similar to a c6 vette ride height.

I haven't seen it with the two tone yet but it is supposed to look very good (according to some that have visited). They are being very quiet about the paint job..not even sending us pictures of what exactly they are doing.

Also thanks to Steven Rupp on the construction article in July 08 PHR on the nova!

novanutty 05-25-2008 11:39 AM

 new to forums, always a nova nut. Glad to see they are getting attention. Heard the colors for the Rad Rides Nova will be dark charcoal with a deep burgundy stripe with fire red pin stripes on the outside edge of the stripe. Can't wait to see this , sounds amazing. The engine sounds sick.

Its a similar paint scheme but the colors are completely different. As for the wheels they are doing something pretty cool with how they are painting them. The hoops and the centers are going to be painted..and thats all i can say!

By the columbus goodguys show. BTW anyone know any hotels that are in the area of the show to stay at??

mlomaka 05-28-2008 04:15 AM

I can give you some names of the ones in the heart of the "after show" activities, but I dont know if they have any openings. I f you email me, I can tell/show you where things happen, then you can look around from there.

Can't wait to see it! I hope I can get a picture of it.
